約書亞告民曰、以色列族之上帝耶和華云、亙古爾祖亞伯拉罕及拿鶴之父他拉、居大河東、服事他上帝。

Joshua said to all the people,“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says:‘ Long ago your ancestors, including Terah the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the Euphrates River and worshiped other gods.

Joshua spoke to all the people. He said,“ The Lord is the God of Israel. He says,‘ Long ago your people lived east of the Euphrates River. They worshiped other gods there. Your people included Terah. He was the father of Abraham and Nahor.

And Joshua said to all the people,“ Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel,‘ Long ago, your fathers lived beyond the Euphrates, Terah, the father of Abraham and of Nahor; and they served other gods.

Joshua said to the people,“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Long ago your ancestors, including Terah, the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the Euphrates River, and they worshiped other gods.

And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time,[ even] Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served other gods.

Joshua told all the people,“ Here is what the LORD God of Israel says:‘ In the distant past your ancestors lived beyond the Euphrates River, including Terah the father of Abraham and Nahor. They worshiped other gods,

Joshua said to all the people,“ Yahweh, the God of Israel, says,‘ Your fathers lived of old time beyond the River, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nahor. They served other gods.

如果你们认为事奉耶和华不好，那么今日你们就可以选择你们所要事奉的：是你们列祖在大河那边事奉的神呢，还是你们现在所住亚摩利人之地的神呢？至于我和我家，我们必事奉耶和华。”

他们就把自己手中所有外族人的神像，和自己耳朵上的环子，都交给雅各；雅各把这些东西埋在示剑附近的橡树底下。

当时拉班剪羊毛去了，拉结就偷了他父亲的神像。

你们要瞻仰你们的祖宗亚伯拉罕，他们也要瞻仰那生你们的撒拉。亚伯拉罕独自一人的时候，我呼召了他，赐福给他，使他有很多子孙。

然后你要在耶和华你的神面前说：‘我的祖先原是个飘泊流亡的亚兰人；他下到埃及，在那里寄居；他人数稀少，在那里却成了又大又强、人数又多的国。

你要说：‘主耶和华对耶路撒冷这样说：你的根源和出生地是在迦南地；你的父亲是亚摩利人，你的母亲是赫人。

至于你的神像，你在谁身上搜出来，那人就不该活着；你当着我们众兄弟面前查一查，如果在我这里有什么东西是你的，你只管拿去。”原来雅各不知拉结偷了神像。

他拉活到七十岁，就生了亚伯兰、拿鹤和哈兰。以下是他拉的后代：他拉生亚伯兰、拿鹤和哈兰；哈兰生罗得。哈兰在他父亲他拉之前，死在他出生之地，就是迦勒底的吾珥。亚伯兰和拿鹤都娶了妻子；亚伯兰的妻子名叫撒莱；拿鹤的妻子名叫密迦，是哈兰的女儿；哈兰是密迦和亦迦的父亲。撒莱不能生育，没有孩子。他拉带着他的儿子亚伯兰和他的孙子，就是哈兰的儿子罗得，以及他的媳妇亚伯兰的妻子撒莱，一同出了迦勒底的吾珥，要到迦南地去；他们到了哈兰，就住在那里。他拉死在哈兰；他的寿数共二百零五岁。耶和华对亚伯兰说：“你要离开本地、本族、父家，到我指示你的地方去。
