Do not take advantage of a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether that worker is a fellow Israelite or a foreigner residing in one of your towns.

Don’t take advantage of any hired worker who is poor and needy. That applies to your own people. It also applies to outsiders living in one of your towns.

“ You shall not oppress a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brothers or one of the sojourners who are in your land within your towns.

“ Never take advantage of poor and destitute laborers, whether they are fellow Israelites or foreigners living in your towns.

“ Do not oppress a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether one of your Israelite brothers or one of the resident aliens in a town in your land.

“ You shall not exploit a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your countrymen or one of your strangers who are in your land in your towns.

“ You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether one of your brethren or one of the aliens who is in your land within your gates.

Thou shalt not oppress a hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy sojourners that are in thy land within thy gates:

“ Do not oppress a hired hand who is poor and needy, whether one of your brothers or one of the foreigners residing within a town in your land.

Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant[ that is] poor and needy,[ whether he be] of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that[ are] in thy land within thy gates:

You must not oppress a lowly and poor servant, whether one from among your fellow Israelites or from the resident foreigners who are living in your land and villages.

You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brothers or one of the foreigners who are in your land within your gates.

萬有之主曰、我必涖臨爾曹、施行審鞫、必速譴責、必速譴責原文作必亟為證以攻凡有邪術者、犯姦淫者、發假誓者、負負或作奪傭人值者、虐遇孤寡者、屈枉客旅而不敬畏我者、

欺壓貧人者、即侮造之之主、尊主者必矜憫窮民、

虐貧者欲增其所有、是以富加富、終必缺乏、或作虐貧者反可致富餽富人反致缺乏○

爾居撒瑪利亞山、若巴珊牝牛之婦、虐遇貧者、欺壓窮者、謂家主曰、攜酒予我飲、當聽斯言、或作爾曹居撒瑪利亞山肥若巴珊牝牛之婦當聽斯言爾曹虐遇貧者欺壓窮者謂家主曰攜金予我使我得飲

貧者首蒙塵埃、為彼所喜、窮者理直、彼反為曲、父子淫一女、致褻瀆我聖名、

我僕婢與我爭辯、我何嘗使之負屈含冤、我以為如有此、天主起而訊鞫、我將若何、天主若察問、我何以答之、造我於胎者、不亦造彼乎、使我與彼為母所生、豈非一主乎、

使之無衣、裸身而行、又使之饑負禾束、使之在墻院內造油、在壓酒處壓酒、而不得解渴、

若爾族中人族中人原文作弟兄下同貧乏敗落於爾前、當助之、相待如客旅、或寄居者、使之能偕爾度生、毋向之索利、當畏爾天主、使同族人能偕爾度生、若借以銀、或糧、毋索利、我乃主爾之天主、曾導爾出伊及地、欲以迦南地賜爾、欲為爾之天主、○若爾族中人貧乏、鬻己於爾、毋役之如奴、彼於爾家、當待之如傭人、如寄居者、彼服役於爾、當及禧年、禧年既屆、彼與子女、必離爾家、歸本族、及祖父之業、蓋凡以色列人皆為我僕、乃我導之出伊及者、不得鬻為奴、毋役之過嚴、當敬畏爾天主、

如爾同族希伯來人、或男或女、自鬻於爾為奴為婢可事爾六年、至第七年、必釋之離爾、聽其自主、既釋之、毋使徒手而去、必由羊群穀倉壓酒處中、有所當取以給之、循主爾天主賜爾之福、爾當追憶昔爾在伊及地為奴、乃主爾之天主救贖爾、故我今日以此諭爾、彼若向爾言不欲離爾、因愛爾及爾家、以為役事於爾家甚美、則爾當取錐貫其耳於門旁、彼則永為爾奴、爾之待婢亦必如是、爾釋之之時勿以為難、蓋彼事爾六年、則工值較倍於傭人、如是、主爾之天主、必在凡爾所為之事、賜福於爾、○

爾中有人藐視父母、爾中有人虐遇客旅、爾中有人欺凌孤寡、

爾曹欲吞食貧民、欲使窮者淪亡、當聽此言、

居其家、則飲食隨其所有、蓋工得其值、宜也、勿由此家移至彼家、
