亚实基伦见状必陷入恐惧，迦萨见状必充满痛苦，以革伦见状必希望破灭。迦萨必失去君王，亚实基伦必荒无人烟。混杂的种族必占领亚实突，我必铲除非利士人的骄傲。我必除去他们口中带血的肉和齿间的可憎之物。余下的人必归属我，成为犹大的一族，以革伦人必像耶布斯人一样归属我。

耶和华说：“迦萨人三番四次地犯罪，我必不收回对他们的惩罚，因为他们把被掳之人全都带走，卖到以东做奴隶。所以，我要降火在迦萨的城墙上，烧毁它的城堡。我要铲除亚实突的居民和亚实基伦的掌权者，伸手攻击以革伦，剩下的非利士人都要灭亡。这是主耶和华说的。”

我要使他们的寡妇比海沙还多，使毁灭者在午间突然夺取青年的性命，以致母亲们陷入痛苦、惊恐中。

“主耶和华说，‘非利士人心存仇恨，为了报世仇要毁灭犹大，所以我必伸手攻击他们，铲除基利提人，毁灭沿海残余的人。我要报应他们，发烈怒惩罚他们。我报应他们的时候，他们就知道我是耶和华。’”

他们喊道，‘准备作战！我们中午攻城。’他们后来说，‘唉！日已西沉，天色渐暗。

在法老攻打迦萨之前，耶和华告诉了耶利米先知有关非利士人的事。耶和华说：“看啊，大水将从北方涨溢，形成一道洪流，淹没大地和地上的一切，吞噬城邑和其中的居民。人们必呼喊，地上的居民必哀哭。一听见马蹄嗒嗒、战车隆隆、车轮滚滚的声音，做父亲的就吓得手脚发软，无力照顾儿女。因为毁灭所有非利士人的日子到了，铲除泰尔和西顿剩余帮手的日子到了。耶和华要灭绝迦斐托岛剩余的非利士人。迦萨一片荒凉，亚实基伦沦为废墟。谷中的余民啊！你们要割伤身体到何时呢？你们大喊，‘耶和华的刀啊，你何时才停下来呢？求你入鞘吧！停下来吧！’但耶和华已命令它攻击亚实基伦和沿海一带，它怎能停下来呢？”

或黑暗中横行的瘟疫，或正午肆虐的灾难。
