是則非肉體所生者為天主之子、惟所應許之子、方視之為裔、

於此可見天主之子女、不以血統為據、而惟恩諾是憑。

In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring.

並且他領受了割禮的標記，做為他沒有受割禮時因信稱義的印證，使他成為所有不憑著割禮而信之人的父，也使他們被算為義；而且他也成為受割禮之人的父，不僅為那些受了割禮的人，還為那些順著我們的先祖亞伯拉罕信心之腳蹤行走的人；亞伯拉罕的信心在他沒有受割禮的時候就已經有了。原來，賜給亞伯拉罕和他後裔繼承世界的應許，不是藉著律法，而是藉著因信而得的義。這是因為，如果本於律法的才是繼承人，信就落了空，應許也就無效了。事實上，律法帶來了震怒，所以哪裡沒有律法，哪裡也就沒有過犯。為此，這應許是本於信，好使這應許照著恩典，能確保給所有的後裔——不僅是給屬律法的，也是給屬亞伯拉罕信心的。亞伯拉罕在神面前是我們每個人的父，

在耶和華登記萬民的時候，他將要數點：「這一個出生在那裡。」細拉

因為經上記著：亞伯拉罕有兩個兒子，一個出於女僕，一個出於自由女人。那出於女僕的是由肉體生的，那出於自由女人的是藉著應許生的。這些都是有寓意的。就是說，這兩個女人是兩個約。一個出於西奈山，生子為奴，她就是夏甲。這夏甲是指著阿拉伯的西奈山，相當於現在的耶路撒冷，因為耶路撒冷和她的兒女都是為奴的。但那在上面的耶路撒冷是自由女人；她是我們的母親。因為經上記著：「不能生育、沒有生產的女子啊，你要歡喜！沒有經歷臨產陣痛的女子啊，你要放聲呼喊！因為沒有丈夫的女子，比有丈夫的女子有更多的兒女。」不過弟兄們，你們就像以撒一樣，是應許的兒女。但正如那由肉體生的當時逼迫了那由聖靈生的，現在也是這樣。然而經上是怎麼說的呢？「把女僕和她的兒子趕出去！因為女僕的兒子，絕不可以與自由女人的兒子一同做繼承人。」因此，弟兄們，我們不是女僕的兒女，而是自由女人的兒女。

原來，凡是蒙神的靈帶領的人，他們才是神的兒女。

我們不是被他看作外人嗎？因為他把我們賣了，竟然徹底吞噬了我們的身價！

後裔必服事他；主的事必給後代講述。
