也不因為是亞伯拉罕的後裔，就都是他的兒女；只有「從以撒生的，才會被稱為你的後裔。」

亦非因其為亞伯拉罕之裔、遂盡為子、經云、由於以撒者、乃謂爾裔也、

為亞伯拉罕裔者、不得盡為嗣子、經云、惟出自以撒者、得謂爾裔焉、

亦非因係亞伯拉罕之裔、皆得為子、經載主云、惟由以撒而生者、方可稱為爾裔、

而亞伯漢之苗裔、亦非必盡為其子女。經云：『惟依灑格所生、乃得稱為汝裔。』

Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary,“ It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”

Not everyone in Abraham’s family line is really his child. Not at all! Scripture says,“ Your family line will continue through Isaac.”( Genesis 21:12)

and not all are children of Abraham because they are his offspring, but“ Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.”

Being descendants of Abraham doesn’t make them truly Abraham’s children. For the Scriptures say,“ Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted,” though Abraham had other children, too.

Neither is it the case that all of Abraham’s children are his descendants. On the contrary, your offspring will be traced through Isaac.

nor are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants, but:“ through Isaac your descendants shall be named.”

nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but,“ In Isaac your seed shall be called.”

neither, because they are Abraham’s seed, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

Neither are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants. On the contrary, your offspring will be traced through Isaac.

Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham,[ are they] all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

nor are all the children Abraham’s true descendants; rather“ through Isaac will your descendants be counted.”

Neither, because they are Abraham’s offspring, are they all children. But,“ your offspring will be accounted as from Isaac.”

神對亞伯拉罕說：「不要因這少年和你的女僕而愁煩。撒拉對你說的一切，你都要聽從，因為從以撒而出的，才被稱為你的後裔。

關於這兒子，神曾經說過：「從以撒生的，將被稱為你的後裔。」

我知道你們是亞伯拉罕的後裔。可是你們想要殺我，因為你們裡面容不下我的話語。我所說的，是我從我父那裡所看到的；而實際上，你們所做的，是從你們的父那裡所聽到的。」他們回答說：「亞伯拉罕是我們的父！」耶穌說：「如果你們是亞伯拉罕的兒女，就會做亞伯拉罕所做的事。

實際上，我們才是受過割禮的人，就是藉著神的靈事奉，在基督耶穌裡誇耀，不依靠肉體的人。

你們應當結出果子，與悔改的心相稱！你們不要自己裡面一開始就說『我們有亞伯拉罕為先祖。』我告訴你們：神能從這些石頭中給亞伯拉罕興起兒女來。

那出於女僕的是由肉體生的，那出於自由女人的是藉著應許生的。

「財主卻說：『不，我父亞伯拉罕哪！其實如果有人從死人中復活，到他們那裡去，他們就會悔改。』

就呼喚說：『我父亞伯拉罕，可憐我吧！請打發拉撒路用指頭蘸點水，涼一下我的舌頭吧，因為我在這火焰裡，極其痛苦！』「可是亞伯拉罕說：『孩子啊，你當想起，你一生怎樣享了你的福，而拉撒路怎樣受了苦；但如今他在這裡受到安慰，你卻在痛苦中。

他們回答：「我們是亞伯拉罕的後裔，從來沒有做過誰的奴僕。你怎麼說『你們將要得自由』呢？」
