降雨在地上，遣水到田里，

过了许久，到第三年，耶和华的话临到以利亚说：“你去在亚哈面前出现，我要降雨在地面上。”

以利亚对亚哈说：“你上去吃喝吧！因为已经有下大雨的响声了。”亚哈就上去吃喝。以利亚上了迦密山顶，屈身在地，把脸放在两膝之间。以利亚对自己的仆人说：“你上去向海那边观看。”他就上去观看，说：“什么也没有。”以利亚说：“你再回去观看。”这样说了七次。到第七次，仆人说：“我看到一小片乌云，好像人的手掌那么大，正在从海里升上来。”以利亚说：“你上去告诉亚哈：‘赶快套车下山，免得被大雨所阻。’”霎时之间，天空因风云而变为黑暗，随着降下大雨来。于是亚哈坐上了车，往耶斯列去了。

风随意而吹，你听见它的响声，却不知道它从哪里来，往哪里去；凡从圣灵生的，也是这样。”

你曾入过雪库，或见过雹仓吗？这些雪雹是我为降患难的时候，为打仗和争战的日子所存留的。光从哪条路散开，东风从哪里分散在地上？谁为大雨分水道，谁为雷电定道路？使雨降在无人之地，落在无人居住的旷野，使荒废之地得着滋润，使青草在干旱之地得以长起来呢？雨有父亲吗？露珠是谁生的呢？

列国虚无的偶像中，有可以降雨的吗？天能自降甘霖吗？耶和华我们的神啊！能够这样作的，不是只有你吗？所以我们仰望你，因为这一切都是你所作的。

原野上还没有树木，田间的蔬菜还没有长起来，因为耶和华神还没有降雨在地上，也没有人耕种土地；不过有雾气从地面上升，滋润全地。

他一吩咐，狂风就刮起，海中的波浪也高扬。
