Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

While I was still speaking and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my plea before the Lord my God in behalf of the holy mountain of my God,while I was still speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision previously, came to me in my extreme weariness about the time of the evening offering.And he instructed me and talked with me and said,“ Daniel, I have come now to give you insight with understanding.At the beginning of your pleas the command was issued, and I have come to tell you, because you are highly esteemed; so pay attention to the message and gain understanding of the vision.

Then Pharaoh hurriedly called for Moses and Aaron, and he said,“ I have sinned against the Lord your God and against you.So now, please forgive my sin only this once, and plead with the Lord your God, that He would only remove this death from me.”

Create in me a clean heart, God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

The man said,“ The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me some of the fruit of the tree, and I ate.”Then the Lord God said to the woman,“ What is this that you have done?” And the woman said,“ The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

One who conceals an offense seeks love, But one who repeats a matter separates close friends.

saying,“ I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” But they said,“ What is that to us? You shall see to it yourself!”And he threw the pieces of silver into the temple sanctuary and left; and he went away and hanged himself.

Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all offenses.

“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and self indulgence.You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of it may also become clean.“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.So you too, outwardly appear righteous to people, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

So Samuel came to Saul, and Saul said to him,“ Blessed are you of the Lord! I have carried out the command of the Lord.”

‘ But if they confess their wrongdoing and the wrongdoing of their forefathers, in their unfaithfulness which they committed against Me, and also in their acting with hostility against Me—I also was acting with hostility against them, to bring them into the land of their enemies— or if their uncircumcised heart is humbled so that they then make amends for their wrongdoing,then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and I will remember also My covenant with Isaac, and My covenant with Abraham as well, and I will remember the land.

but continually proclaimed to those in Damascus first, and in Jerusalem, and then all the region of Judea, and even to the Gentiles, that they are to repent and turn to God, performing deeds consistent with repentance.

Then the Lord said to Cain,“ Where is Abel your brother?” And he said,“ I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?”

Then Saul said,“ I have sinned; but please honor me now before the elders of my people and before all Israel, and go back with me, so that I may worship the Lord your God.”
