加以警戒、使服爾律、惟彼驕矜、不從爾命、爾之律例、人遵之則得生、彼乃犯之、強項背逆、不肯聽從、

加以訓誨、使服爾律例、彼妄自誇大、不從爾命、爾之法度、遵之者則得生、彼故犯之、強項難馴、背命不聽。

加以警戒、使復服主之律法、乃彼狂妄、不從主之誡命、干犯主之法度、人若遵之必得生、彼乃違背強項、不欲聽從、

“ You warned them in order to turn them back to your law, but they became arrogant and disobeyed your commands. They sinned against your ordinances, of which you said,‘ The person who obeys them will live by them.’ Stubbornly they turned their backs on you, became stiff- necked and refused to listen.

“ You warned them so that they would obey your law again. But they became proud. They didn’t obey your commands. They sinned against your rules. You said,‘ Anyone who obeys my rules will live by them.’ But the people didn’t care about that. They turned their backs on you. They became very stubborn. They refused to listen to you.

And you warned them in order to turn them back to your law. Yet they acted presumptuously and did not obey your commandments, but sinned against your rules, which if a person does them, he shall live by them, and they turned a stubborn shoulder and stiffened their neck and would not obey.

“ You warned them to return to your Law, but they became proud and obstinate and disobeyed your commands. They did not follow your regulations, by which people will find life if only they obey. They stubbornly turned their backs on you and refused to listen.

“‘但我们的祖先行事狂傲，硬着颈项不听从你的诫命。

你们要谨守我的律例典章；遵行的人就必因此得生。我是耶和华。

“‘然而，他们不顺从，竟背叛你，将你的律法丢在背后，又杀害那些劝他们回转归向你的众先知，犯了亵渎的大罪。

施行神迹奇事在法老和他所有臣仆，以及他国中众百姓身上，因为你知道他们向我们祖先行事狂傲。你也得了名声，正如今日一样。

但是他赐更多的恩典，正如经上说：“上帝抵挡骄傲的人，但赐恩给谦卑的人。”所以，要顺服上帝。要抵挡魔鬼，魔鬼就必逃避你们；要亲近上帝，上帝就必亲近你们。有罪的人哪，要洁净你们的手！心怀二意的人哪，要清洁你们的心！你们要愁苦，悲哀，哭泣；要将欢笑变为悲哀，欢乐变为愁闷。要在主面前谦卑，他就使你们高升。

他们却不留意；耸肩悖逆，耳朵发沉，不肯听从。他们的心坚硬如金刚石，不听律法和万军之耶和华藉着他的灵差遣从前先知所说的话。因此，万军之耶和华大发烈怒。

何沙雅的儿子亚撒利雅和加利亚的儿子约哈难，以及所有狂傲的人，就对耶利米说：“你说谎！耶和华—我们的上帝并没有差遣你说：‘你们不可进入埃及，在那里寄居。’

“万军之耶和华—以色列的上帝如此说：‘看哪，我必使我所说的一切灾祸临到这城和属它的城镇，因为他们硬着颈项不听我的话。’”

“从亚们的儿子犹大王约西亚十三年直到今日，在这二十三年中，常有耶和华的话临到我；我也一再对你们传讲，只是你们不听从。耶和华也曾一再差遣他的仆人众先知到你们这里来，只是你们不听从，也不侧耳而听，说：‘你们各人当回转离开恶道和恶行，就可居住耶和华从古时所赐给你们和你们祖先之地，直到永远。不可随从别神，事奉敬拜它们，以你们手所做的惹我发怒；这样，我就不会降灾祸给你们。然而你们不听从我，竟以手所做的惹我发怒，害了自己。这是耶和华说的。’”

他们却不听从，也不侧耳而听，竟硬着颈项不听，不肯领受训诲。

你们却不听我，不侧耳而听，竟硬着颈项行恶，比你们的祖先更甚。

因此，我藉先知砍伐他们，以我口中的话杀戮他们；对你的审判如光发出。

到如今你们还不懊悔，不惧怕，不肯遵行我在你们和你们祖先面前所设立的法度律例。

你们当听，当侧耳而听；不可骄傲，因为耶和华已经吩咐了。当耶和华—你们的上帝尚未使黑暗来临，在昏暗的山上你们的脚未绊跌以前，要将荣耀归给他。你们盼望光明，他却使光明变为死荫，成为幽暗。你们若不听这话，我的心必因你们的骄傲暗自哭泣；我的眼必痛哭流泪，因为耶和华的羊群被掳去了。

律法并不出于信，而是说：“行这些事的就必因此得生。”

“论到你奉耶和华的名向我们所说的话，我们必不听从。我们定要照我们口中所说的一切话去做，向天后烧香，献浇酒祭，按着我们与我们祖先、君王、官长在犹大城镇和耶路撒冷街市上素常所做的一样；因为那时我们得以吃饱、享福乐，并未遇见灾祸。

但他的心高傲，灵也刚愎，以致行事狂傲，就被革去国度的王位，夺走荣耀。

摩西和亚伦就到法老那里，对他说：“耶和华—希伯来人的上帝这样说：‘你在我面前不肯谦卑要到几时呢？放我的百姓走，好事奉我。

当许多祸患灾难临到他们的时候，这首歌必在他们面前作见证，因为他们后裔的口必吟诵不忘。我未领他们到我所起誓应许之地以先，他们所怀的意念我都知道了。”

但上帝仍差遣先知到他们那里，引导他们归向耶和华。先知警戒他们，他们却不肯听。

我今日呼天唤地向你们作见证，你们在过约旦河得为业的地上必迅速灭亡！你们在那地的日子必不长久，必全然灭绝。

耶稣对他说：“你回答得正确，你这样做就会得永生。”

论到出于律法的义，摩西写着：“行这些事的人，就必因此得生。”

耶和华—他们列祖的上帝因为爱惜自己的百姓和居所，一再差遣使者去警戒他们。

耶和华藉众先知、先见劝戒以色列和犹大说：“当离开你们的恶行，谨守我的诫命律例，遵行我吩咐你们祖先、藉我仆人众先知所传给你们的一切律法。”

我将我的律例赐给他们，将我的典章指示他们；人若遵行就必因此存活。
