耶和華如此說：「在拉瑪聽見號咷痛哭的聲音，是拉結哭她兒女，不肯因她兒女受安慰，因為他們都不在了。」

萬軍之耶和華如此說：「你們要考慮，將唱哀歌的婦女召來，差人召善哭的婦女前來，叫她們速速為我們舉哀，使我們淚眼汪汪，使我們的眼皮湧出淚水。因為有哀聲從錫安傳來：『我們竟然敗落！我們何等慚愧！我們撇下土地，人拆毀了我們的房屋。』」婦女們哪，當聽耶和華的話，領受他口中的言語；當教導你們的女兒舉哀，各人教導女伴唱哀歌。因為死亡從窗戶進來，進入我們的宮殿，從外邊剪除孩童，從街上剪除少年。

他們從伯特利起行，到以法他還有一段路程，拉結生產，生得十分艱難。她生得十分艱難的時候，接生婆對她說：「不要怕，你又要有一個兒子了。」她快要死，還有一口氣的時候，就給她兒子起名叫便‧俄尼；他父親卻給他起名叫便雅憫。拉結死了，葬在往以法他的路旁；以法他就是伯利恆。雅各在她的墳上立了一塊碑，就是拉結的墓碑，到今日還在。

我聽見有彷彿婦人臨產的聲音，好像是生頭胎疼痛的聲音，原來是錫安的聲音；她喘着氣，伸開手：「我有禍了！在殺人者跟前，我的心靈發昏。」

他們的父親雅各對他們說：「你們害我喪失了我的兒子：約瑟不在了，西緬也不在了，你們還要帶走便雅憫！這些事都臨到我身上了。」

回到他兄弟們那裏，說：「孩子不在了。我往哪裏去才好呢？」

他在我面前展開書卷，它內外都寫着字，上面所寫的有哀號、嘆息、悲痛的話。

他認出來，就說：「這是我兒子的外衣，惡獸把他吃了，約瑟一定被撕碎了！」雅各就撕裂衣服，腰間圍上麻布，為他兒子哀傷了多日。他的兒女都起來安慰他，他卻不肯受安慰，說：「我必哀傷着下陰間，到我兒子那裏。」約瑟的父親就為他哀哭。

我觀看，聽見一隻在空中飛的鷹大聲說：「禍哉！禍哉！禍哉！地上的居民哪，其餘的三位天使快要吹號了！」

但壯士一死就消逝了；人一氣絕，他在何處呢？
