這時候，耶穌對那群人說：「你們帶著刀劍和棍棒出來抓我，就像對付強盜那樣嗎？我天天坐在聖殿裡教導人，你們並沒有抓我。

安息日那天，我們出了城門，來到河邊，想到那裡有一個禱告的地方。我們就坐下來，對聚集在那裡的婦女們講道。

耶穌看見人群，就上了山，坐下來。他的門徒們來到他面前，他就開口教導他們，說：

有一條船是西門的，耶穌上去，請他把船划出去，稍微離岸。耶穌就坐下來，從船上教導眾人。

你們當中卻不是這樣；相反，誰想在你們當中為大，誰就該做你們的僕人；無論誰想在你們當中為首，誰就該做你們的奴僕，就像人子來不是為了受人的服事，而是為了服事人，並且獻上自己的生命，替許多人做救贖的代價。」

他們從佩爾格往前行，來到皮西迪亞地區的安提阿，在安息日那天，就進了會堂坐下。誦讀了律法和先知書以後，會堂主管們派人來對他們說：「各位兄弟，如果有什麼鼓勵民眾的話，就請說吧。」保羅就站起來，揮一下手，說：「各位以色列人和敬畏神的人，請聽！

那一天，耶穌從屋子裡出來，在湖邊坐下。有一大群人聚集到他那裡，所以他上了一條船坐下來。眾人都站在岸邊。

彼得看見，就對民眾說：「各位以色列人哪！你們為什麼對這事感到驚奇？為什麼注視我們，以為我們是憑著自己的能力或虔誠使這個人走路的呢？
