不可咒罵聾子，也不可將絆腳石放在盲人面前。你要敬畏你的神。我是耶和華。

“‘ Do not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block in front of the blind, but fear your God. I am the Lord.

“‘ Do not ask for bad things to happen to deaf people. Do not put anything in front of blind people that will make them trip. Instead, have respect for me. I am the Lord your God.

You shall not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block before the blind, but you shall fear your God: I am the Lord.

「『引領瞎子走錯路的，必受詛咒！』眾百姓要說：『阿們！』

「在白髮的人面前，你要站起來，要尊敬老人；要敬畏你的神，我是耶和華。

你們彼此不可虧負，只要敬畏你的神，因為我是耶和華－你們的神。」

其實，食物不能使我們更接近神，因為我們不吃也無損，吃也無益。可是，你們要謹慎，免得你們這自由竟成了軟弱人的絆腳石。若有人見你這有知識的在偶像的廟裏坐席，而這人的良心是軟弱的，他豈不放膽去吃那祭過偶像的食物嗎？因此，基督為他死的那軟弱弟兄，也就因你的知識沉淪了。你們這樣得罪弟兄，傷了他們軟弱的良心，就是得罪基督。所以，食物若使我的弟兄跌倒，我就永遠不吃肉，免得使我的弟兄跌倒了。

務要尊重眾人；要敬愛教中的弟兄姊妹；要敬畏神；要尊敬君王。

所以，我們不可再彼此評斷，寧可決意不給弟兄放置障礙或絆腳石。

你們不要使猶太人、希臘人，或神教會中的人跌倒；

要祝福迫害你們的，要祝福，不可詛咒。

在我以前的省長加重百姓的負擔，向百姓索取糧食和酒，以及四十舍客勒銀子，甚至他們的僕人也轄制百姓，但我因敬畏神不這樣做。

第三天，約瑟對他們說：「我是敬畏神的，你們這麼做就可以活。

然而，有幾件事我要責備你，就是在你那裏有人服從了巴蘭的教訓；這巴蘭曾教唆巴勒將絆腳石放在以色列人面前，使他們吃祭過偶像之物，並且犯淫亂。

既然你們稱那不偏待人、按各人行為審判人的主為父，就當存敬畏的心，度你們在世寄居的日子。
