He is to lay both hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the wickedness and rebellion of the Israelites— all their sins— and put them on the goat’s head. He shall send the goat away into the wilderness in the care of someone appointed for the task.

He must place both of his hands on its head. While he does that, he must tell me about all the sins the Israelites have committed. He must tell me about all their evil acts and the times they did not obey me. In that way he puts their sins on the goat’s head. Then he will send the goat away into the desert. The goat will be led away by a man appointed to do it.

And Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over it all the iniquities of the people of Israel, and all their transgressions, all their sins. And he shall put them on the head of the goat and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who is in readiness.

He will lay both of his hands on the goat’s head and confess over it all the wickedness, rebellion, and sins of the people of Israel. In this way, he will transfer the people’s sins to the head of the goat. Then a man specially chosen for the task will drive the goat into the wilderness.

以士喇祈禱上帝、涕泣陳過、俯伏殿前、以色列族男女和會、爰及孩提、皆大哭。

夫人心信以稱義、口認以得救、

牽犢至會幕前、使亞倫及子按手其上。

我禁食衣麻蒙灰、仰首禱告我主上帝、自陳罪戾、求我之上帝耶和華曰、至大之主上帝、深可畏懼、凡敬愛乎主、恪守律法、則爾矜憫之、必踐所言、我儕犯罪作惡、違爾律例、棄爾禮儀、爾臣僕諸先知、藉爾之名、告我王公祖父國民之語、我不聽從、主秉公義、惟我儕猶大人耶路撒冷居民、以色列族眾、無論遐邇、因犯罪愆、為爾驅逐、星散於四方、俱當含羞、今日之事為證。我與我王公列祖、獲罪乎主、必當抱愧蒙羞、我主我上帝矜憫為懷、恆加赦宥、我儕違逆、不遵我之上帝耶和華、不從爾臣僕諸先知訓我之律例、我以色列眾犯爾律法、不遵爾命、我既獲罪、故爾僕摩西律例所載之咒詛、臨於我躬、爾素責我、及我士師、必降大災、今已應矣、降罰耶路撒冷、較天下民尤嚴、摩西律例所載諸災、加乎我躬、我猶不禱告我上帝耶和華、未悛我前愆、未學爾真理、故耶和華專其心思、降災於我、蓋我之上帝耶和華、恆秉大公、見我不遵命、遂降禍患、我主上帝、昔用巨能、導爾民出埃及、爾名播揚、逮於今日、我儕獲罪於爾、我與我祖陷於罪戾、故耶路撒冷居民、為眾姍笑、今求我主、以恩賚我、息爾憤怒、不罰爾聖山耶路撒冷、我上帝之聖所荒蕪、求爾垂顧、以彰主榮、應僕所祈、我之上帝與、我儕祈禱、非為我義、乃為爾仁慈、求爾垂聽斯邑、為籲爾名之所、今已荒圯、爾其鑒察焉、斯邑斯民、皆屬上帝、望主垂聽、望主赦宥、望主助余勿緩、以彰爾榮、我自陳愆尤、並述以色列族之罪、為彼聖山、求我上帝耶和華、

以上苟有過失、任之勿辭。

如其能任己愆、及前人之罪、自知差失、所行逆我、

按手其上、則悅納可希、罪愆可贖。

是日一時四刻、立於其次、誦上帝耶和華律例之書、又一時四刻、任罪崇拜上帝。利未人耶書亞、巴尼、甲滅、示巴尼、布尼、示哩比、巴尼、基拿尼、登臺大聲籲呼上帝耶和華。利未人耶書亞、甲滅、巴尼、哈沙尼、示哩比、和地雅、示巴尼、庇大希、曰、爾曹當立、頌讚爾之上帝耶和華、恆久弗已、上帝歟、爾名維顯、即使和聲頌讚、亦未足為榮。
