If you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, he will turn and bring disaster on you and make an end of you, after he has been good to you.”

Suppose you desert the Lord. Suppose you serve the gods that people in other lands serve. If you do, he will turn against you. He will bring trouble on you. He will destroy you, even though he has been good to you.”

If you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, then he will turn and do you harm and consume you, after having done you good.”

If you abandon the Lord and serve other gods, he will turn against you and destroy you, even though he has been so good to you.”

昔我儕告王曰、凡求我天主者、必蒙其施恩保護、棄之者必干其盛怒、今若求王賜我步卒馬卒、防備途間之敵、則甚覺羞愧、

如善人離善作惡、循惡人所行諸可憎之事而行、豈得生存乎、其所行之諸善、不復追憶、必因所作之慝、所犯之罪死亡、

悖逆者與獲罪者、同歸敗亡、凡棄主者必至消滅、

惟爾曹遠棄我、忘我聖山、為迦得迦得即司命神列案供奉、為米尼米尼即司數神以酒灌奠者、我命定爾為鋒刃所殺、屈身被戮、因我召爾、爾不應、我有言、我有言或作我誨爾爾不聽、行我所惡者、行我所惡者或作行惡於我前擇我所不悅者、

如爾違背、而與爾中所遺之民聯絡、與之嫁娶往來、往來或作相雜則當知主爾之天主、必不復逐此諸族之民於爾前、斯民必為陷爾之網羅、必為陷爾之網羅或作必陷爾於網羅為鞭於爾脇、為剌於爾目、直至爾曹滅亡、於主爾天主所賜爾之美地、今我將逝世行世人所必行之路、爾當一心一意、明知主爾天主許福於爾之言、無一或失、皆應於爾、一無所遺、主爾天主所許爾之福、既俱臨爾、主亦能使諸禍臨爾、滅爾於主爾天主所賜爾之美地、

經云、義人必以信得生、若退後、我心不悅之、
