Joshua said to the people,“ You are not able to serve the Lord. He is a holy God; he is a jealous God. He will not forgive your rebellion and your sins.

And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he[ is] an holy God; he[ is] a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.

Joshua warned the people,“ You will not keep worshiping the LORD, for he is a holy God. He is a jealous God who will not forgive your rebellion or your sins.

Joshua said to the people,“ You can’t serve Yahweh, for he is a holy God. He is a jealous God. He will not forgive your disobedience nor your sins.

爾當慎於其前、聽從其言、勿違之、爾有愆尤、必不赦爾、蓋彼奉我名而來、

伯示麥人曰、主天主至聖、誰能立於其前、匱離我儕當往誰之所乎、

爾告以色列會眾云、我耶和華爾之天主為聖、爾亦當為聖、

萬有之主行審鞫、顯為崇高、至聖之天主秉公義、顯為至聖、

毋跪拜、毋崇事、蓋我耶和華爾之天主、乃忌邪之天主、或作不容人崇奉別神惡我者、我必討其罪、以及子孫、至三四代、

爾曹當讚美主我之天主為至上、俯拜在主之足凳前、主為至聖、

爾曹皆當讚美主我之天主為至上、在主之聖山叩拜、因主我之天主為至聖、

毋崇拜他神、因我耶和華稱為忌邪者、乃忌邪之天主、

彼此呼應曰、聖哉、聖哉、聖哉、萬有之主、其榮光充滿全地、門柱因呼應之聲而震、殿中充以雲煙、我曰、禍哉、我必亡矣、我乃唇穢之人、居於唇穢之民中、而我目睹大主宰萬有之主也、

一人不能事二主、或惡此愛彼、或重此輕彼、爾曹不能事天主、又事瑪們、瑪們譯即財利之義

當於我前成聖、蓋我耶和華為聖、區別爾於萬民中、以屬於我、

主目至潔、不欲觀妄為、不欲視惡行、今人作罪、作罪或作行欺詐之事主何為徒觀、惡人害較己尤義者、主何為默然不言乎、

拿俄米謂路得曰、爾姒已歸其故鄉、以事其諸神、原文作爾姒已歸其民及其諸神爾盍同之歸、

曰、爾中所有異邦之神、今當除之、一心歸向主以色列之天主、

施恩於人、直至千世、或作施恩於千萬人赦愆尤過失罪惡、惟罪當罰者、斷無不罰、為父之罪、罰子孫至三四代、

我又為以利家誓之、以利家之罪、雖獻祭品禮物、永不得赦、赦或作贖

主天主即以色列之聖主曾如是云、爾悔改安居、方可得救、靜默仰望、方可強盛、惟爾不欲、

枝條枯槁、必被毀折、婦女拾取、用以燃火、因此民蒙昧無知、故造之者不憫之、作之者不向之施恩、

當離所行之道、舍所履之徑、勿於我前復題以色列聖主、

摩西謂亞倫曰、此即主之所言、主曾云、在近我者中必自顯為聖、在眾民前必顯我榮光、亞倫靜默不言、

彼訕笑天主之使者、藐視其言、侮辱侮辱或作譏諷其先知、故主震怒其民、不復援之、

惟異邦人所獻之祭、祭鬼魔、非祭天主、我不欲爾與鬼魔交、爾不能飲主之杯、又飲鬼魔之杯、不能共主之席、又共鬼魔之席、我儕可激主之怒乎、我儕豈勝於主乎、○

有群眾與耶穌同行、耶穌顧之曰、人就我、若不愛我、勝於愛其父母、妻子、兄弟、姊妹、與己之生命、不得為我徒、不負其十字架而從我者、亦不得為我徒、爾曹孰有建樓、不先坐計其貲、果足以竣事否乎、恐置基而不能成、見者皆哂之曰、此人作於始、乃不能成於終、或有王出、與他王會戰、豈不先坐而運籌、能以一萬卒、敵以二萬卒來攻者乎、否則彼尚遠、遣使求和、如是凡爾曹不盡舍所有者、不得為我徒、○
