舟長就之曰、睡者歟、奚若此、其起禱爾神、庶神眷念我儕、免致死亡、

The captain went to him and said,“ How can you sleep? Get up and call on your god! Maybe he will take notice of us so that we will not perish.”

So the captain came to him, and said to him,“ What do you mean, sleeper? Arise, call on your God; perhaps your God will consider us, so that we may not perish.”

So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not.

The captain approached him and said,“ What are you doing sound asleep? Get up! Call to your god. Maybe this god will consider us, and we won’t perish.”

Who knows, God may turn and relent, and turn from His burning anger so that we will not perish.”

Hate evil, love good, And establish justice in the gate! Perhaps the Lord God of armies Will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

Therefore He humbled their heart with labor; They stumbled and there was no one to help.Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them from their distresses.

And he said,“ While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept; for I said,‘ Who knows, the Lord may be gracious to me, and the child may live.’

And a fierce gale of wind* developed, and the waves were breaking over the boat so much that the boat was already filling with water.And yet Jesus Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they* woke Him and* said to Him,“ Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea,“ Hush, be still.” And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm.And He said to them,“ Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”They became very much afraid and said to one another,“ Who, then, is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”

Then Paul replied,“ What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”

Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them from their distresses.

When He killed them, then they sought Him, And they returned and searched diligently for God;

Who say to a tree,‘ You are my father,’ And to a stone,‘ You gave me birth.’ For they have turned their backs to Me, And not their faces; But in the time of their trouble they will say,‘ Arise and save us!’But where are your gods Which you made for yourself? Let them arise, if they can save you In the time of your trouble! For as many as the number of your cities Are your gods, Judah.

Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we first believed.

Their souls loathed all kinds of food, And they came close to the gates of death.Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them from their distresses.He sent His word and healed them, And saved them from their destruction.

Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He brought them out of their distresses.He caused the storm to be still, So that the waves of the sea were hushed.

For this reason it says,“ Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you.”
