以致你向上帝发怒，口出恶言？

以致你的心灵转过来抗拒神，从你的口中竟发出这样的话？

使你的靈反對神，也任你的口發這言語？

以致你的靈反對上帝，你的口說出這樣的言語呢？

以致你的靈反對神，你的口說出這樣的言語呢？

以致你向上帝發怒，口出惡言？

以致你的心靈轉過來抗拒神，從你的口中竟發出這樣的話？

以致你的氣針對着上帝，而讓你的口發出這樣的話語呢？

致爾專心逆上帝、任口出言詞、

心逆上帝、口述妄言。

爾竟向天主發怒、口出妄言、

so that you vent your rage against God and pour out such words from your mouth?

Why do you get so angry with God? Why do words like those pour out of your mouth?

that you turn your spirit against God and bring such words out of your mouth?

that you turn against God and say all these evil things?

as you turn your anger against God and allow such words to leave your mouth?

That you can turn your spirit against God And produce such words from your mouth?

That you turn your spirit against God, And let such words go out of your mouth?

That against God thou turnest thy spirit, And lettest words go out of thy mouth?

For we all stumble in many ways. If someone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect individual, able to control the entire body as well.And if we put bits into the mouths of horses to get them to obey us, then we guide their entire bodies.Look at ships too: Though they are so large and driven by harsh winds, they are steered by a tiny rudder wherever the pilot’s inclination directs.So too the tongue is a small part of the body, yet it has great pretensions. Think how small a flame sets a huge forest ablaze.And the tongue is a fire! The tongue represents the world of wrongdoing among the parts of our bodies. It pollutes the entire body and sets fire to the course of human existence– and is set on fire by hell.

for he stretches out his hand against God, and vaunts himself against the Almighty,defiantly charging against him with a thick, strong shield!Because he covered his face with fat, and made his hips bulge with fat,

He is wise in heart and mighty in strength– who has resisted him and remained safe?

Is it good for you to oppress, to despise the work of your hands, while you smile on the schemes of the wicked?

Then make sure you don’t speak evil words or use deceptive speech!

because the outlook of the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to the law of God, nor is it able to do so.Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

But the tents of robbers are peaceful, and those who provoke God are confident– who carry their god in their hands.

“ You have criticized me sharply,” says the LORD,“ but you ask,‘ How have we criticized you?’

If someone thinks he is religious yet does not bridle his tongue, and so deceives his heart, his religion is futile.
