But the eyes of the wicked will fail, and escape will elude them; their hope will become a dying gasp.”

But sinful people won’t find what they are looking for. They won’t be able to escape. All they can hope for is to die.”

在那些国中，你必不得安逸，也不得落脚之地；耶和华却使你在那里心中跳动，眼目失明，精神消耗。

控告他的朋友、以朋友为可抢夺的，连他儿女的眼睛也要失明。

“我若不容贫寒人得其所愿，或叫寡妇眼中失望，

咒骂父母的，他的灯必灭，变为漆黑的黑暗。

凡忘记神的人，景况也是这样；不虔敬人的指望要灭没。他所仰赖的必折断；他所倚靠的是蜘蛛网。

景况好像人躲避狮子又遇见熊，或是进房屋以手靠墙，就被蛇咬。耶和华的日子不是黑暗没有光明吗？不是幽暗毫无光辉吗？

我们仰望人来帮助，以致眼目失明，还是枉然；我们所盼望的，竟盼望一个不能救人的国！

神要向他射箭，并不留情；他恨不得逃脱神的手。

我们若忽略这么大的救恩，怎能逃罪呢？这救恩起先是主亲自讲的，后来是听见的人给我们证实了。

他在阴间受痛苦，举目远远地望见亚伯拉罕，又望见拉撒路在他怀里，就喊着说：‘我祖亚伯拉罕哪，可怜我吧！打发拉撒路来，用指头尖蘸点水，凉凉我的舌头；因为我在这火焰里，极其痛苦。’亚伯拉罕说：‘儿啊，你该回想你生前享过福，拉撒路也受过苦；如今他在这里得安慰，你倒受痛苦。不但这样，并且在你我之间，有深渊限定，以致人要从这边过到你们那边是不能的；要从那边过到我们这边也是不能的。’

不敬虔的人虽然得利，神夺取其命的时候还有什么指望呢？

快跑的不能逃脱；有力的不能用力；刚勇的也不能自救。

我看见主站在祭坛旁边；他说：“你要击打柱顶，使门槛震动，打碎柱顶，落在众人头上；所剩下的人，我必用刀杀戮，无一人能逃避，无一人能逃脱。他们虽然挖透阴间，我的手必取出他们来；虽然爬上天去，我必拿下他们来；虽然藏在迦密山顶，我必搜寻，捉出他们来；虽然从我眼前藏在海底，我必命蛇咬他们；

没有黑暗、阴翳能给作孽的藏身。

恶人所怕的，必临到他；义人所愿的，必蒙应允。

我因呼求困乏，喉咙发干；我因等候神，眼睛失明。

我待你们就要这样：我必命定惊惶，叫眼目干瘪、精神消耗的痨病热病辖制你们。你们也要白白地撒种，因为仇敌要吃你们所种的。

他要从所倚靠的帐棚被拔出来，带到惊吓的王那里。
