昔我儕亦無知、背逆、迷惑、役於嗜慾及諸淫佚、常行暴很媢嫉之事、且為人所惡、而彼此相惡、惟我救主天主矜憐仁愛顯著之時、拯救我、非由我行義之功、乃由其矜恤、使我受洗重生、賜我聖神以復新、原文作拯救我非由我行義之功乃由重生之洗與聖神之復新而救我儕聖神乃天主因我救主耶穌基督、厚賜我儕、使我賴其恩寵而得稱義、希望為嗣子得永生、

惟爾曹乃蒙選之族、有王位之祭司、成聖之國、屬主之民、主召爾出幽暗、入其妙光、欲爾宣揚其德、爾素非為民、今為天主之民、昔未蒙憐恤、今已蒙憐恤、○我所愛者、爾曹在世既為賓客羈旅、我勸爾去肉體之慾、即敵靈者也、爾於異邦人中、當舉動皆善、彼素謗爾為惡、既見爾之善行、則在眷顧之時、歸榮於天主、○

爾若惟愛愛爾者、何惠之有、罪人亦愛愛己者、

我從異邦人之意、邪侈、縱慾、放飲、饕餮、沈湎、更行拜偶像可憎之事、往時如是已足矣、

千年既滿、撒但必得釋於囚、出而誘惑地上四方之民、即歌革與瑪歌革、集之以戰、其數如海沙、至於地之廣原、圍聖徒之營、及蒙愛之城、遂有火自天主由天而降遂有火自天主由天而降有原文抄本作遂有火由天而降以滅之、
