Death has climbed in through our windows and has entered our fortresses; it has removed the children from the streets and the young men from the public squares.

所以，耶和华使迦勒底人的王来攻击他们，在他们圣殿里用刀杀了他们的壮丁，不怜悯他们的少男少女、老人长者。耶和华把所有的人都交在他手里。

我耳中听见耶和华对其余的人说：“要跟随他走遍全城去击杀。你们的眼不要顾惜，也不要可怜他们。要将年老的、年轻的、少女、孩童和妇女，从我的圣所开始全都杀尽，只是不可挨近凡有记号的人。”于是他们从殿前的长老杀起。

死人的叔伯要把尸首抬到屋外焚烧，就问房屋内间的人说：“你那里还有别人吗？”他说：“没有。”又说：“不要作声，不可提耶和华的名。”看哪，耶和华发命令，把大房子拆成碎片，小屋子裂为小块。

“人子啊，你要拍掌预言，使这刀三番两次临到；这是致人死伤的刀，就是包围人，使人大受死伤的刀。我设立这恐吓的刀，攻击他们一切的城门，为要使他们的心惊慌害怕，许多人因而跌倒。唉！它造得像闪电，磨得尖利，要行杀戮。
