“ The nations say,‘ We would have healed Babylon. But it can’t be healed. So let’s leave it. Let’s each go to our own land. Babylon’s sins reach all the way to the skies. They rise up as high as the heavens.’

因她的罪惡滔天，神已經記得她的不義。

他使多人絆跌，彼此撞倒。他們說：「起來，讓我們回到自己的同胞、回到自己的出生地去，好躲避欺壓的刀劍。」

說：「我的神啊，我抱愧蒙羞，不敢向你－我的神仰面，因為我們的罪孽多到滅頂，我們的罪惡滔天。

但那裏有耶和華的一個先知，名叫俄德，出來迎接往撒瑪利亞去的軍兵，對他們說：「看哪，耶和華－你們列祖的神惱怒猶大人，將他們交在你們手裏，你們竟怒氣沖天，向他們大行殺戮。

你所操勞的事都像這樣；從你幼年以來與你交易的都各奔己路，沒有一人來救你。

「秋收已過，夏季已完，我們還未得救！」

你所見的樹漸長，而且茁壯，高得頂天，全地都能看見，葉子華美，果子甚多，可作所有動物的食物；野地的走獸住在其下，天空的飛鳥宿在枝上。「王啊，這成長又茁壯的樹就是你。你的威勢成長及於天，你的權柄達到地極。

她們去買的時候，新郎到了。那預備好了的，與他進去共赴婚宴，門就關了。其餘的童女隨後也來了，說：『主啊，主啊，給我們開門！』他卻回答：『我實在告訴你們，我不認識你們。』所以，你們要警醒，因為那日子，那時辰，你們不知道。」

它的傭兵好像圈裏的肥牛犢，他們轉身退後，一齊逃跑，站立不住；因為他們遭難的日子、受罰的時刻已經來臨。
