And he said unto him, Say on.And Samuel said, When thou[ wast] little in thine own sight,[ wast] thou not[ made] the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel?And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD?And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal.And Samuel said, Hath the LORD[ as great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey[ is] better than sacrifice,[ and] to hearken than the fat of rams.For rebellion[ is as] the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness[ is as] iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from[ being] king.And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.

And Micaiah said,[ As] the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak.

For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.

And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they[ are] most rebellious.

And Nathan said to David, Thou[ art] the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;And I gave thee thy master’s house, and thy master’s wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if[ that had been] too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things.Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife[ to be] thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give[ them] unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.For thou didst[ it] secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.

And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.

For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.
