Zedekiah king of Judah will not escape the Babylonians but will certainly be given into the hands of the king of Babylon, and will speak with him face to face and see him with his own eyes.

Zedekiah, the king of Judah, will not escape from the powerful hands of the armies of Babylon. He will certainly be handed over to the king of Babylon. Zedekiah will speak with him face to face. He will see him with his own eyes.

Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him face to face and see him eye to eye.

King Zedekiah will be captured by the Babylonians and taken to meet the king of Babylon face to face.

King Zedekiah of Judah will not escape from the Chaldeans; indeed, he will certainly be handed over to Babylon’s king. They will speak face to face and meet eye to eye.

「人必將你的后妃和你的兒女帶到迦勒底人那裏；你也不得脫離他們的手，必被巴比倫王的手捉住，這城也必被火焚燒。」

你若不歸順巴比倫王的官長，這城必交在迦勒底人手中。他們必用火焚燒，你也不得脫離他們的手。」

猶大王西底家和所有士兵看見他們，就在夜間從靠近王的花園、兩城牆中間的門逃跑出城，往亞拉巴逃去。迦勒底的軍隊追趕他們，在耶利哥的平原追上西底家，將他逮住，帶到哈馬地的利比拉、巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒那裏；尼布甲尼撒就判他的罪。在利比拉，巴比倫王在西底家眼前殺了他的兒女；巴比倫王又殺了猶大所有的貴族，並且挖了西底家的眼睛，用銅鏈鎖住他，要帶到巴比倫去。

西底家王差人提他出來，在自己的宮內私下問他說：「有甚麼話從耶和華臨到沒有？」耶利米說：「有！」又說：「你必被交在巴比倫王手中。」

城被攻破，士兵全都在夜間從靠近王的花園、兩城牆中間的門逃跑。迦勒底人正在四圍攻城，王就往亞拉巴逃去。迦勒底的軍隊追趕王，在耶利哥的平原追上他；他的全軍都離開他潰散了。迦勒底人就拿住王，帶他到利比拉的巴比倫王那裏；他們就判他的罪。他們在西底家眼前殺了他的兒女，挖了西底家的眼睛，用銅鏈鎖着他，帶到巴比倫去。

又從以色列王室後裔中選取一人，與他立約，令他發誓，又擄走國中有勢力的人，使王國衰弱，不再強盛，只能靠守盟約方得生存。他卻背叛巴比倫王，差派使者前往埃及，要求埃及人給他馬匹和許多人。他豈能亨通呢？這樣做的人豈能逃脫呢？他背了約豈能逃脫呢？主耶和華說：我指着我的永生起誓，他定要死在巴比倫，就是巴比倫王所在之處；因為巴比倫王立他為王，他竟輕看向王所起的誓，背棄王與他所立的約。當敵人建土堆，築堡壘，要殲滅許多人時，法老雖有強大軍隊和大批人馬，在戰場上還是不能幫助他。他輕看誓言，背棄盟約，看哪，雖已投降，卻又做這一切的事，他必不能逃脫。所以主耶和華如此說：我指着我的永生起誓，他既輕看我的誓言，背棄我的約，我必使這罪歸到他頭上。我要把我的網撒在他身上，他就被我的羅網纏住。我要帶他到巴比倫，在那裏因他背叛我的罪懲罰他。所有逃跑的軍隊必倒在刀下；剩餘的也必分散四方。你們就知道說這話的是我－耶和華。」

迦勒底的軍隊追趕西底家王，在耶利哥的平原追上他。他的全軍都離開他潰散了。迦勒底人就拿住王，帶他到哈馬地利比拉的巴比倫王那裏；巴比倫王就判他的罪。巴比倫王在西底家眼前殺了他的兒女，又在利比拉殺了猶大全體的官長，並且挖了西底家的眼睛，用銅鏈鎖着他，帶到巴比倫去，將他囚在監裏，直到他死的日子。

你這褻瀆行惡的以色列王啊，你的日子，最後懲罰的時刻已來臨。主耶和華如此說：當除掉榮冕，摘下華冠，景況已不復從前；要使卑者升為高，使高者降為卑。

他們中間的君王也必在天黑時把物件背在肩上帶走。他們要挖通牆壁，從其中帶出去。他必蒙住臉，眼看不見地。我要把我的網撒在他身上，他就被我的羅網纏住。我要帶他到迦勒底人之地的巴比倫；他沒有看見那地，就死在那裏。
