They built high places for Baal in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to sacrifice their sons and daughters to Molek, though I never commanded— nor did it enter my mind— that they should do such a detestable thing and so make Judah sin.

The people built high places for Baal in the Valley of Ben Hinnom. That is where they sacrifice their children to Molek in the fire. That is something I did not command. It did not even enter my mind. They did something I hate. They made Judah sin.”

They built the high places of Baal in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to offer up their sons and daughters to Molech, though I did not command them, nor did it enter into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.

They have built pagan shrines to Baal in the valley of Ben Hinnom, and there they sacrifice their sons and daughters to Molech. I have never commanded such a horrible deed; it never even crossed my mind to command such a thing. What an incredible evil, causing Judah to sin so greatly!

並在欣嫩子谷將兒女用火燒獻為祭，又算命，又觀兆頭，又行邪術，又行交鬼的事和巫術；多行永恆主所看為壞的事，而惹他發怒。

卻走以色列諸王的路。竟為巴力造了鑄像；並且在欣嫩子平谷中燒香，將兒女用火燒獻為祭，像永恆主從以色列人面前所驅逐的外國人所行可厭惡的事一樣；

約西亞又使欣嫩子谷的陀斐特成了凡俗，不許人將兒女用火燒獻給摩洛。

這是因為他所犯的罪——他行永恆主所看為壞的事，走耶羅波安所走的路——犯他所犯的罪、使以色列人犯了罪。

築了巴力的邱壇，去在火中焚燒自己的兒女，做燻祭獻給巴力：這不是我所吩咐的，不是我所提說的，也不是我心裏所想起的啊。因此你看吧，日子必到，永恆主發神諭說，這地方必不再稱為陀斐特和欣嫩子平谷，乃要稱為殺戮平谷。

『你要對以色列人說：凡以色列人、和在以色列中寄居的外僑、將自己的後裔獻給摩洛的、總必須被處死；這地的人要扔石頭把他砍死。我也要向那人板着臉，把他從他的族人中剪除掉，因為他把他的後裔獻給摩洛，使我的聖所蒙不潔，並且褻瀆我的聖名。人把他的後裔獻給摩洛，這地的人若掩目不看，不把他處死，我就要向那人和他的家板着臉，把他和一切隨從他變節的、就是變節去服事摩洛的人、都從他的族人中剪除掉。

你們這在聖篤耨香樹中間、在各茂盛樹下慾火焚燒，在谿谷間，在碞穴下宰殺親生孩子的？

然而瑪拿西卻迷惑了猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民去行壞事，比永恆主從以色列人面前所除滅的外國人更壞。

『因為猶大王瑪拿西行這些可厭惡的事、比他以前的亞摩利人一切所行的更壞，並且用他的偶像使猶大人犯了罪；

你並且把你的兒女，你所給我生的，祭獻給它們、去被燒滅。你的淫亂哪裏是小事呢？你這樣宰殺我的兒女，使他們經過火而歸於它們呀。

因了耶羅波安的罪、就是他自己犯了的、又使以色列人犯了的、永恆主必將以色列人放棄了。』

他們宰獻了自己的兒子和女兒給魔鬼，流了無辜人的血，他們兒女的血，他們所宰獻給迦南之偶像的；那地就因血而被沾污了。

這是因為耶羅波安所犯的罪，他使以色列人犯的那罪，惹了永恆主以色列上帝的怒氣。

因為她們行了姦淫，手中有殺人的血；她們跟她們的偶像行了姦淫，使她們給我所生的兒女經過火燒獻給偶像做食物。

拿答行永恆主所看為壞的事，走他父親所走的路，犯他父親使以色列人犯的那罪。

那麼、打發她出來的這以前的丈夫就不可在婦人這樣蒙了不潔以後、再娶她為妻，因為這是永恆主面前可厭惡的事；你不可使永恆主你的上帝所賜給你為產業的地蒙受罪污。

不但如此，他也將在伯特利的祭壇，和那使以色列人犯了罪的、尼八的兒子耶羅波安、所建築的邱壇，那祭壇和那邱壇約西亞都拆毁，把那邱壇打碎成灰去燒，將亞舍拉神木都燒掉。

摩西對亞倫說：『這人民向你作了甚麼，你竟使他們陷於大罪呀？』

只是尼八的兒子耶羅波安的罪、耶羅波安使以色列人犯的那罪、約蘭卻緊跟着，總不離開。

在你中間不可有人將兒子或女兒用火燒獻為祭，也不可有占卜的、算命的、觀兆頭的、行邪術的、

因為他離棄了我，去敬拜西頓人的女神亞斯他錄、摩押的神基抹、和亞捫人的神米勒公，沒有走我的路，而行我所看為對的事，沒有像他父親大衛一樣守我的律例和典章。

我必使你的家像尼八的兒子耶羅波安的家，又像亞希雅的兒子巴沙的家，都因為你惹我發怒，又因為你使以色列人犯了罪的緣故。」
