Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God,yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, reached me about the time of the evening offering.And he informed me, and talked with me, and said,“ O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you skill to understand.

The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.

If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

Then he turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the Lord, saying,“ Remember now, O Lord, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what was good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.And it happened, before Isaiah had gone out into the middle court, that the word of the Lord came to him, saying,“ Return and tell Hezekiah the leader of My people,‘ Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father:“ I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.

and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.

and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.

And Abraham came near and said,“ Would You also destroy the righteous with the wicked?Suppose there were fifty righteous within the city; would You also destroy the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous that were in it?Far be it from You to do such a thing as this, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?”So the Lord said,“ If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.”Then Abraham answered and said,“ Indeed now, I who am but dust and ashes have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord:Suppose there were five less than the fifty righteous; would You destroy all of the city for lack of five?” So He said,“ If I find there forty-five, I will not destroy it.”And he spoke to Him yet again and said,“ Suppose there should be forty found there?” So He said,“ I will not do it for the sake of forty.”Then he said,“ Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Suppose thirty should be found there?” So He said,“ I will not do it if I find thirty there.”And he said,“ Indeed now, I have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord: Suppose twenty should be found there?” So He said,“ I will not destroy it for the sake of twenty.”Then he said,“ Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak but once more: Suppose ten should be found there?” And He said,“ I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.”

Entreat the Lord, that there may be no more mighty thundering and hail, for it is enough. I will let you go, and you shall stay no longer.”So Moses said to him,“ As soon as I have gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands to the Lord; the thunder will cease, and there will be no more hail, that you may know that the earth is the LORD’s.

For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.

And the Lord listened to Hezekiah and healed the people.

And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot had dwelt.

Brethren, pray for us.

Have you come to me to bring my sin to remembrance, and to kill my son?”And he said to her,“ Give me your son.” So he took him out of her arms and carried him to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him on his own bed.Then he cried out to the Lord and said,“ O Lord my God, have You also brought tragedy on the widow with whom I lodge, by killing her son?”And he stretched himself out on the child three times, and cried out to the Lord and said,“ O Lord my God, I pray, let this child’s soul come back to him.”Then the Lord heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came back to him, and he revived.And Elijah took the child and brought him down from the upper room into the house, and gave him to his mother. And Elijah said,“ See, your son lives!”Then the woman said to Elijah,“ Now by this I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in your mouth is the truth.”

Therefore the people came to Moses, and said,“ We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord and against you; pray to the Lord that He take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people.Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.”So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.

Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel:“ Sun, stand still over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.”

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

So when he heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews to Him, pleading with Him to come and heal his servant.And when they came to Jesus, they begged Him earnestly, saying that the one for whom He should do this was deserving,

Pray for us; for we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably.

And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.

how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said:“ Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them,who by the mouth of Your servant David have said:‘ Why did the nations rage, And the people plot vain things?The kings of the earth took their stand, And the rulers were gathered together against the Lord and against His Christ.’“ For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered togetherto do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done.Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word,by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

So Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh and spread out his hands to the Lord; then the thunder and the hail ceased, and the rain was not poured on the earth.

“ Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that‘ by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.

Now therefore, let Me alone, that My wrath may burn hot against them and I may consume them. And I will make of you a great nation.”Then Moses pleaded with the Lord his God, and said:“ Lord, why does Your wrath burn hot against Your people whom You have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?Why should the Egyptians speak, and say,‘ He brought them out to harm them, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth’? Turn from Your fierce wrath, and relent from this harm to Your people.Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants, to whom You swore by Your own self, and said to them,‘ I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven; and all this land that I have spoken of I give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.’”So the Lord relented from the harm which He said He would do to His people.

Then the king answered and said to the man of God,“ Please entreat the favor of the Lord your God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored to me.” So the man of God entreated the Lord, and the king’s hand was restored to him, and became as before.

So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

Then the Lord said to me,“ Even if Moses and Samuel stood before Me, My mind would not be favorable toward this people. Cast them out of My sight, and let them go forth.

Then Hezekiah prayed before the Lord, and said:“ O Lord God of Israel, the One who dwells between the cherubim, You are God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.Incline Your ear, O Lord, and hear; open Your eyes, O Lord, and see; and hear the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to reproach the living God.Truly, Lord, the kings of Assyria have laid waste the nations and their lands,and have cast their gods into the fire; for they were not gods, but the work of men’s hands— wood and stone. Therefore they destroyed them.Now therefore, O Lord our God, I pray, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the Lord God, You alone.”Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying,“ Thus says the Lord God of Israel:‘ Because you have prayed to Me against Sennacherib king of Assyria, I have heard.’

Now because of this King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah, the son of Amoz, prayed and cried out to heaven.Then the Lord sent an angel who cut down every mighty man of valor, leader, and captain in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned shamefaced to his own land. And when he had gone into the temple of his god, some of his own offspring struck him down with the sword there.Thus the Lord saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria, and from the hand of all others, and guided them on every side.

Then the chief butler spoke to Pharaoh, saying:“ I remember my faults this day.When Pharaoh was angry with his servants, and put me in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, both me and the chief baker,

Now therefore, restore the man’s wife; for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you shall live. But if you do not restore her, know that you shall surely die, you and all who are yours.”

that they might seek mercies from the God of heaven concerning this secret, so that Daniel and his companions might not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven.Daniel answered and said:“ Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, For wisdom and might are His.And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding.He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, And light dwells with Him.“ I thank You and praise You, O God of my fathers; You have given me wisdom and might, And have now made known to me what we asked of You, For You have made known to us the king’s demand.”

And Moses said to the Lord:“ Then the Egyptians will hear it, for by Your might You brought these people up from among them,and they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that You, Lord, are among these people; that You, Lord, are seen face to face and Your cloud stands above them, and You go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and in a pillar of fire by night.Now if You kill these people as one man, then the nations which have heard of Your fame will speak, saying,‘ Because the Lord was not able to bring this people to the land which He swore to give them, therefore He killed them in the wilderness.’And now, I pray, let the power of my Lord be great, just as You have spoken, saying,‘ The Lord is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means clears the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation.’Pardon the iniquity of this people, I pray, according to the greatness of Your mercy, just as You have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.”Then the Lord said:“ I have pardoned, according to your word;

And I fell down before the Lord, as at the first, forty days and forty nights; I neither ate bread nor drank water, because of all your sin which you committed in doing wickedly in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger.For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure with which the Lord was angry with you, to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me at that time also.And the Lord was very angry with Aaron and would have destroyed him; so I prayed for Aaron also at the same time.

He took his brother by the heel in the womb, And in his strength he struggled with God.Yes, he struggled with the Angel and prevailed; He wept, and sought favor from Him. He found Him in Bethel, And there He spoke to us—

And He said,“ Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

So Samuel called to the Lord, and the Lord sent thunder and rain that day; and all the people greatly feared the Lord and Samuel.

For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

And Asa cried out to the Lord his God, and said,“ Lord, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O Lord, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You!”So the Lord struck the Ethiopians before Asa and Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.

Then he said to the king,“ Do not let my Lord impute iniquity to me, or remember what wrong your servant did on the day that my Lord the king left Jerusalem, that the king should take it to heart.
