不要为明天夸耀，因为你不知道一天中会发生什么。

他就心里盘算：‘我没有地方储存我的产物了，做什么呢？’他就说：‘我要这么做：拆掉我的这些仓库，另建更大的，把我所有的麦子和美物收集在那里。然后，我要对我的灵魂说：灵魂哪，你拥有了很多好东西，足以享用多年，你就休息、吃喝、庆祝吧。’“可是神对他说：‘你这愚妄的人哪！今夜，他们就要召回你的灵魂了。那么，你所预备的要归谁呢？’

他们彼此说：“来吧！让我们做砖，用火烧透。”于是他们就用砖代替石头，用沥青代替灰泥。他们又说：“来吧！让我们为自己建造一座城和一座塔，塔顶通天，好为自己立名，免得我们分散在整个地面上。”

那时，百姓怎样，祭司也怎样；仆人怎样，主人也怎样；婢女怎样，主母也怎样；购买的怎样，贩卖的也怎样；借给人的怎样，向人借的也怎样；放债的怎样，借债的也怎样。

我对自己说：“来吧，我要用享乐试验你，让你看看有什么好处！”看哪，这也是虚空！

现在来吧，你们这些富有的人哪！应当为那些将要临到你们的惨祸而痛哭、哀号！

哭泣的，要像没有哭泣的；快乐的，要像没有快乐的；买了东西的，要像没有什么的；

来吧！让我们下去，在那里把他们的语言变乱，使他们彼此听不懂对方的语言。”

现在我告诉你们，我要怎样处理我的葡萄园：我必除掉它的篱笆，它就被吞尽；拆毁它的围墙，它就被践踏。

这些狗非常贪食，不知饱足；他们作为牧人，却没有悟性；他们全都偏行己路，各人尽都谋求自己的利益。他们说：“来吧，我去拿酒，让我们痛饮烈酒！明天必像今天一样，甚至会更好！”
