In that day the Lord will use a razor hired from beyond the Euphrates River— the king of Assyria— to shave your heads and private parts, and to cut off your beards also.

At that time the Lord will use the Assyrians to punish you. Ahaz had hired them earlier from east of the Euphrates River. Now their king will be like a razor in the Lord’s hand. He will shave the hair from your head and private parts. He will also shave off your beards.

In that day the Lord will shave with a razor that is hired beyond the River— with the king of Assyria— the head and the hair of the feet, and it will sweep away the beard also.

In that day the Lord will hire a“ razor” from beyond the Euphrates River— the king of Assyria— and use it to shave off everything: your land, your crops, and your people.

惟爾人子、當取利刀、用為薙刀、用為薙刀或作即薙髮者所用之薙刀以之薙去首髮與鬚、以權權其輕重而分之、待環攻其邑之日已滿、以三分之一、火焚於邑中、以三分之一、斷之以刃在邑之四周、以三分之一、散之以風、我亦拔刃追襲於後、又自其中當取少許、包之於衣襟、復自此中更取少許、投之於火、以火焚燬、蓋自其中必有火出、焚以色列全族、

爾屢增悖逆、尚有何處可擊、首皆已痛、心悉已憊、

今我以此諸國、賜我僕巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、亦以田野之百獸賜之、為其使役、列國之民必服事之、延及子孫、迨滅其國之時已屆、則眾多之邦國、強大之君王、必勒令巴比倫王服事、

亞述王提革拉毘尼色既至、不助之、反加以困迫、亞哈斯雖以主殿王宮大夫家之物、賄亞述王、彼仍不助之、

亞述人必受禍、我怒如梃、我忿猶杖、為其手所執、我遣之攻邪惡之國、命之罰我所怒之民、擄掠攘奪、蹂躪人民、若街衢之泥然、

人子、巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、使其軍旅環攻推羅、勞苦已極、首各除髮、肩各裂皮、彼與軍旅、攻推羅辛勤、未得犒勞、

故主在以色列族中、一日之間、絕首與尾、㯶枝與蘆葦、老者顯者即首、傳偽道之先知即尾、導斯民者誘之、凡被其所導者俱滅亡、斯民皆從邪行惡、口出妄言、故主不悅其壯男、不惜其孤寡、雖然、主怒猶未息也、主手仍不縮也、

主必將涸伊及海汊、海汊或作海股舉手使狂風大作、震盪大河、分為七川、使人可着履而過、

主使斯地空虛、使之荒蕪、傾而覆之、傾而覆之原文作傾覆其面使其居民離散、其時庶民如何、祭司亦然、僕人如何、主人亦然、婢女如何、主母亦然、鬻物者如何、購物者亦然、貸人者如何、貸於人者亦然、負債者如何、索債者亦然、
