斯民必遭攘奪、囚於幽暗、拘於囹圄、既罹災害、無人拯之、既被俘囚、無人釋之、

彼為被擄掠遭強奪之民、囚於獄、拘於監、被刼掠無人救援、遭攘奪無人言反、

那使世界如同荒野，傾覆其城鎮，又不釋放囚犯回家的，難道就是這人嗎？』

為要垂聽被囚者的呻吟，釋放那些註定要死的人；

忘記神的人哪，你們當領悟這事，免得我撕碎你們，沒有人解救！

主耶和華如此說：「先前我的子民下到埃及，在那裡寄居；後來亞述人無故地欺壓他們。現在這情形對我有什麼意義！」這是耶和華的宣告。「我的子民被人無償地帶走；管轄他們的人在號叫；我的名終日不斷地被藐視。」這是耶和華的宣告。

為要開瞎眼之人的眼，領被囚的出監獄，領坐在黑暗中的出牢房。

那時，逃避恐怖風聲的將掉進陷坑，從陷坑中爬上來的將被網羅纏住；因為天上的窗戶敞開了，大地的根基也震動了。

這地派遣信使經由海路，從水面上乘蒲草船而來。去吧，迅捷的使者們哪！到身材高大、皮膚光滑的那族，到遠近之人所懼怕的那民，到極其強大、四處踐踏、江河縱橫其地的那族去！

「當你們看見耶路撒冷被軍隊包圍的時候，你們那時就應當知道它的毀滅近了。那時，在猶太的人應當逃到山裡；在城裡的人應當出來；在鄉下的人不要進城；因為這是報應的日子，為要應驗經上所記載的一切。在那些日子裡，孕婦和哺乳的女人有禍了！因為將有大苦難臨到這地，也有震怒臨到這民。他們將倒在刀口下，被擄到各國去。耶路撒冷將要被外邦人踐踏，直到外邦人的日期滿了。

希西加王十四年，亞述王西納基立上來攻擊猶大所有堅固的城，並攻取了它們。

你們的國土荒涼，你們的城市被火燒毀；你們的田地，在你們面前被外族人吞噬，荒涼得就像被外族人覆滅了一樣。

耶穌快到耶路撒冷的時候，看見那城，就為她哭泣，說：「巴不得你在這日子裡明白關乎你和平的事，但如今這事在你眼前被隱藏了。因為日子將臨到你，你的敵人要築起壁壘包圍你，四面困住你。而且，他們要將你和你裡面的兒女猛摔在地，不容你裡面有一塊石頭留在另一塊石頭上，因為你沒有認出神臨到你的時候。」

是我以公義興起了居魯士，並要修直他一切的道路。他必重建我的城，釋放我的被擄之民，不是為工價，也不是為酬報。」這是萬軍之耶和華說的。

他們必被聚在一起，像地牢中被囚的人；他們被關進監獄，多日以後必受懲罰。

田野中和森林中的百獸啊，你們都來吞噬吧！
