你的列祖下到埃及的時候，一共不過七十人，現在耶和華你的神卻使你的人數像天上的星那麼多了。”

就是我們的列祖下到埃及去，我們在埃及住了很多日子；埃及人惡待我們和我們的列祖；

耶和華對亞伯蘭說：“你要確實地知道，你的後裔必在外地寄居，也必服事那地的人，那地的人苦待他們四百年。

從前雅各到了埃及，後來你們的列祖哀求耶和華，耶和華就差遣摩西和亞倫去把你們的列祖從埃及領出來，又使他們在這地方居住。
