總之、爾如今不復為奴僕、而為兒女矣。既為兒女、則亦為天主之哲嗣也。

身心雖枯竭。靈魂永有託。

蓋爾等皆因信仰耶穌基督、而成天主之子女矣。

庶幾諸凡生於律法之下者、悉蒙拯贖、而吾人皆獲得兒女身分。正惟吾人之為兒女、故天主以其聖子之神、注於吾人之心、俾孺慕之情、油然而生、而發為呼親喊父之聲。

夫爾等既屬基督即為亞伯漢之裔、亦即承恩諾之嗣子也。竊謂嗣子雖為業主、方在稚齡、則亦無異奴僕、必受師傅家宰之監護、以待父命承嗣之日。

即聖神亦與吾人之神魂、同證吾人之為天主兒女焉。既為兒女、即為嗣子；既為天主之嗣子、則亦為基督之共同繼承人也。惟是吾人如欲與之共榮、則不可不先與之共苦共難耳。

兄弟其識之、吾人非婢女之子、乃主婦之子也。夫基督之予吾人以解放也、其非欲吾人享受自由乎？故吾儕當確立不移、不宜妄自菲薄、復入奴隸之軛也。

天主之殿與人造之像、不能相親。蓋吾人固永生天主之聖殿也。天主不云乎：『吾欲寓於其中、吾欲為彼等之天主、而彼等則吾之子民也。』是故主囑爾等獨立特行、毅然離眾、而自成一群。『毋染一塵、吾必納爾。吾願作爾慈父、爾當為吾子女。』此乃全能主宰之語也！

主是我基業。主是我歡杯。杯中酒常滿。家業永不衰。

凡堅忍到底者、必得承此洪基。我願為其主、彼當為我子。
