約雅斤被擄之七年、五月十日、以色列族長老數人咸集、諮諏耶和華、坐於我前、耶和華諭我曰、人子、當告以色列族長老、云、主耶和華曰、爾來諮諏於我、我指己而誓、不許爾與我言。

巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒攻我、爾為我禱耶和華、庶幾耶和華仍顯異跡、俾不攻予、時耶利米奉耶和華命、

故必遭患難、昧於所從、不能自脫、災害忽臨、難以逆料。

若仍弗聽從、將治爾罪、重於七倍。

彼既至、坐於爾前、若我民然、聽爾言而不行、口所言則愛爾不置、其心貪婪、

我降災非一、盡發弧矢、

主耶和華又曰、時日將至、必使斯土之民、如饑如渴、非欲食餅飲水、乃慕耶和華之道、人必遨遊、自湖至海、自北至東、求我耶和華之道、而不能得、

約雅斤被擄之六年、六月五日、我坐於室、猶大長老坐於前、主耶和華之神感予、

西底家王遣人、召先知耶利米至耶和華殿第三院、詰之曰、我有一語問爾、必毋隱。耶利米奏西底家王曰、我告爾、爾必殺予、勸爾、爾必不聽。西底家王私誓、謂耶利米曰、我指賜我生命之耶和華而誓、必不殺爾、不付爾於敵手。耶利米乃奏西底家曰、萬有之主、以色列族之上帝耶和華云、如爾出邑、歸誠巴比倫王牧伯、則爾一家生命可保、斯邑不遭焚燬。不然迦勒底人必焚此城、爾亦不能脫於其手。西底家王告耶利米曰、猶大人已先歸誠於迦勒底人、我甚恐、若彼委我於猶大人、使凌辱予、則奈何。耶利米曰迦勒底人必不委爾於彼、惟我所傳耶和華之命、爾其聽從、則可保生命、而納福祉。如爾不出、則耶和華所示之言、更為王誦之。猶大王宮所遺之女、必曳之出、至巴比倫王牧伯所、此女必訕爾云、爾之良朋誘爾、爾受其欺、見爾陷阱、不顧而逃。人將曳爾妻子、見迦勒底人、爾亦不能脫其手、必為巴比倫王所獲、斯邑必焚以火、皆爾自取。西底家王謂耶利米曰、毋以斯言示人、則可不死。浸假牧伯聞王與爾言、來詰爾曰、爾所奏於王、王所語爾者、其言若何、明以告我、毋隱、則我不殺爾。爾可答之曰、我求王勿使我復入約拿單之室、恐死於彼。諸牧伯至耶利米所、問之。耶利米遵王所命而答、事竟不洩。厥後耶路撒冷被陷之日、時耶利米猶在外獄。

爾尚梗頑、不克從順、則按罪降災、必至七倍、

邑門已墮門楗已折、王公牧伯、羈留於異邦、律例不講、維彼先知莫睹耶和華異象兮。

我必降罰、督責爾罪、至於七倍、
