“人子啊，你要为埃及王法老唱哀歌，对他说，“‘你自认为是列邦中的雄狮，其实你像激荡江河、用脚把江河搅浑的海怪。

“人子啊！你要为埃及王法老作一首哀歌，对他说：‘你像列国中的少壮狮子，又像海中的海怪，你在河中翻腾，用你的爪搅动河水，使江河浑浊。

「人子啊，你要為埃及王法老作哀歌，說：從前你在列國中，如同少壯獅子；現在你卻像海中的大魚。你衝出江河，用爪攪動諸水，使江河渾濁。

「人子啊，你要為埃及王法老作哀歌，說：你在列國中，如同少壯獅子，卻像海裏的海怪，衝出江河，以爪攪動諸水，使江河渾濁。

「人子啊，你要為埃及王法老唱哀歌，對他說，『你自認為是列邦中的雄獅，其實你像激蕩江河、用腳把江河攪渾的海怪。

“人子啊！你要為埃及王法老作一首哀歌，對他說：‘你像列國中的少壯獅子，又像海中的海怪，你在河中翻騰，用你的爪攪動河水，使江河渾濁。

『人子啊，你要為埃及王舉哀唱歌，對他說：『列國中的少壯獅子啊，你可完啦！你，你像海中的鱷魚；卻在你的江河裏衝激着，用你的腳攪濁了水，踹渾了眾水的江河。

人子歟、當為埃及王法老作哀歌、謂曰、爾於列國中、昔若壯獅、今若海中之鱷、衝突於爾河、以足攪水、使河渾濁、

人子、當為埃及王法老作哀歌、告之曰爾若獅之伏於民間、若鱷之居於海中、出入江河、足亂波濤、使水混濁、

人子、當為伊及王法老作哀歌、告之曰、爾若壯獅於列民間、若龍龍或作鱷於海中、爾出入江河、以足攪水、使河流渾濁、

“ Son of man, take up a lament concerning Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him:“‘ You are like a lion among the nations; you are like a monster in the seas thrashing about in your streams, churning the water with your feet and muddying the streams.

“ Son of man, sing a song of sadness about Pharaoh Hophra, the king of Egypt. Tell him,“‘ You are like a lion among the nations. You are like a monster in the sea. You move around wildly in your rivers. You churn the water with your feet. You make the streams muddy.’ ”

“ Son of man, raise a lamentation over Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him:“ You consider yourself a lion of the nations, but you are like a dragon in the seas; you burst forth in your rivers, trouble the waters with your feet, and foul their rivers.

“ Son of man, mourn for Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and give him this message:“ You think of yourself as a strong young lion among the nations, but you are really just a sea monster, heaving around in your own rivers, stirring up mud with your feet.

“ Son of man, lament for Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him,‘ You compare yourself to a lion of the nations, but you are like a monster in the seas. You thrash about in your rivers, churn up the waters with your feet, and muddy the rivers.

“ Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him:‘ You are like a young lion among the nations, And you are like a monster in the seas, Bursting forth in your rivers, Troubling the waters with your feet, And fouling their rivers.

Son of man, take up a lamentation over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say unto him, Thou wast likened unto a young lion of the nations: yet art thou as a monster in the seas; and thou didst break forth with thy rivers, and troubledst the waters with thy feet, and fouledst their rivers.

“ Son of man, lament for Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him: You compare yourself to a lion of the nations, but you are like a monster in the seas. You thrash about in your rivers, churn up the waters with your feet, and muddy the rivers.”

Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say unto him, Thou art like a young lion of the nations, and thou[ art] as a whale in the seas: and thou camest forth with thy rivers, and troubledst the waters with thy feet, and fouledst their rivers.

“ Son of man, sing a lament for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him:“‘ You were like a lion among the nations, but you are a monster in the seas; you thrash about in your streams, stir up the water with your feet, and muddy your streams.

‘ Son of man, take up a lamentation over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and tell him,“ You were likened to a young lion of the nations; yet you are as a monster in the seas. You broke out with your rivers, and troubled the waters with your feet, and fouled their rivers.”

Speak and say,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, The great monster that lies in the midst of his canals, That has said,‘ My Nile is mine, and I myself have made it.’

“ And you, son of man, take up a song of mourning over Tyre;

Where is the den of the lions And the feeding place of the young lions, Where the lion, lioness, and lion’s cub went With nothing to disturb them?The lion tore enough for his cubs, Killed enough prey for his lionesses, And filled his lairs with prey And his dens with torn flesh.“ Behold, I am against you,” declares the Lord of armies.“ I will burn up her chariots in smoke, and a sword will devour your young lions; I will eliminate your prey from the land, and no longer will the voice of your messengers be heard.”

Is it too little a thing for you to feed in the good pasture, that you must trample with your feet the rest of your pastures? Or too little for you to drink the clear waters, that you must muddy the rest with your feet?

“ Son of man, take up a song of mourning over the king of Tyre and say to him,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ You had the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

This is a song of mourning, and they shall sing it. The daughters of the nations shall sing it. Over Egypt and over all her hordes they shall sing it,” declares the Lord God.

On that day the Lord will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, With His fierce and great and mighty sword, Even Leviathan the twisted serpent; And He will kill the dragon who lives in the sea.

“ As for you, take up a song of mourning for the leaders of Israeland say,‘ What was your mother? A lioness among lions! She lay down among young lions, She raised her cubs.When she brought up one of her cubs, He became a young lion, And he learned to tear his prey; He devoured people.Then nations heard about him; He was caught in their trap, And they brought him with hooks To the land of Egypt.When she saw, as she waited, That her hope was lost, She took another of her cubs And made him a young lion.And he walked about among the lions, He became a young lion; He learned to tear his prey; He devoured people.

Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish with all its villages will say to you,‘ Have you come to capture spoils? Have you assembled your contingent to seize plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to capture great spoils?’ ” ’

A lion has gone up from his thicket, And a destroyer of nations has set out; He has gone out from his place To make your land a waste. Your cities will be ruins, Without an inhabitant.

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; Awake as in the days of old, the generations of long ago. Was it not You who cut Rahab in pieces, Who pierced the dragon?

Moreover, in their wailing they will take up a song of mourning for you And sing a song of mourning over you:‘ Who is like Tyre, Like her who is silent in the midst of the sea?

“ Son of man, lament for the hordes of Egypt and bring it down, her and the daughters of the mighty nations, to the netherworld, with those who go down to the pit;

Judah is a lion’s cub; From the prey, my son, you have gone up. He crouches, he lies down as a lion, And as a lion, who dares to stir him up?

Have them hurry and take up a wailing for us, So that our eyes may shed tears, And our eyelids flow with water.

He crouches, he lies down like a lion, And like a lioness, who dares to rouse him? Blessed is everyone who blesses you, And cursed is everyone who curses you.”

Like a roaring lion and a rushing bear Is a wicked ruler over a poor people.

You divided the sea by Your strength; You broke the heads of the sea monsters in the waters.You crushed the heads of Leviathan; You gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness.

Egypt rises like the Nile, And like the rivers whose waters surge; And He has said,“ I will rise and cover that land; I will destroy the city and its inhabitants.”
