And as for you, son of man, you are not to fear them nor fear their words, though thistles and thorns are with you and you sit on scorpions; you are not to fear their words nor be dismayed at their presence, since they are a rebellious house.

“ And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you and you dwell among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, though they are a rebellious house.

看，我已经给了你们权柄去践踏蛇和蝎子，又胜过仇敌一切的势力，绝不会有什么能伤害你们了。

“我，是我安慰你们；你是谁，竟怕那必死的人，就是那被弃如草芥的世人；

因着信，他不怕王的愤怒，离开了埃及，因为他恒心忍耐，如同看见了不可见的那一位。

然而，即使你们为义受苦，也是蒙福的。不要怕他们所惧怕的，也不要惊慌不安，

实际上，神所赐给我们的，不是胆怯的灵，而是大能、慈爱、自制的灵。

这世代的眼目多么高傲！连他的眼皮也高高抬起。这世代的牙齿如剑，尖牙如刀，要吞噬地上的困苦人和世人中的贫穷人。

“我的朋友，我告诉你们：不要怕那些杀了身体以后不能再做什么的人。

也为我祈求，好使我在开口的时候被赐予话语，能坦然无惧地让人明白福音的奥秘——

邪恶如火焚烧，吞没荆棘和蒺藜，点燃树林中的密丛，烟柱旋转上腾。

你们不要怕那些能杀死身体却不能杀死灵魂的；反而倒要惧怕那位能把灵魂和身体都毁灭在地狱里的。

在任何事上都不被反对你们的人吓倒——这对他们是灭亡的证明，而对你们却是得救的证明，并且这是出于神。

他们看见彼得和约翰的胆量，又了解他们是没有学问的普通人，就感到惊奇，并且了解他们是曾经与耶稣在一起的；

主啊，现在求你鉴察他们的威吓，使你的奴仆们能满有胆量地传讲你的话语。

可是彼得和约翰回答说：“听从你们过于听从神，在神面前是理所当然的吗？你们自己判断吧！

有蝗虫从烟中出来，到了地上；它们被赐予了能力，就像地上的蝎子所具有的能力那样。有话吩咐它们不可伤害地上的草、任何绿色植物、任何树木，只可伤害那些额上没有神印记的人；可是不准许杀死这些人，只可使他们受折磨五个月。他们所受的折磨，就像人被蝎子螫到时的折磨那样。在那些日子里，人们将会求死，却绝不得死；他们渴望死，死却逃避他们。

“你们这些认识公义、把我的律法存在心里的子民哪，要听我的话！你们不要害怕人的辱骂，也不要因他们的毁谤而丧胆。
