Son of man, What is the vine tree more than any tree,[ or than] a branch which is among the trees of the forest?

“人子啊，葡萄树比别样树有什么强处？葡萄枝比众树枝有什么好处？

“人子啊，葡萄树比一切其他的树，就是树林里众树木的树枝，有什么长处呢？

“人子啊，葡萄木比林中其他木材更好吗？

“人子啊！葡萄树的木料怎能胜过树林中的枝子呢？

「人子啊，葡萄樹比別樣樹有甚麼強處？葡萄枝比眾樹枝有甚麼好處？

「人子啊，葡萄樹比一切其他的樹，就是樹林裏眾樹木的樹枝，有甚麼長處呢？

「人子啊，葡萄樹比一切其他的樹，就是樹林裏眾樹木的樹枝，有甚麼長處呢？

「人子啊，葡萄木比林中其他木材更好嗎？

“人子啊！葡萄樹的木料怎能勝過樹林中的枝子呢？

『人子啊，葡萄樹比別樣樹有甚麼強處呢？森林樹木中的葡萄枝比別的樹枝有甚麼好處呢？

人子歟、葡萄樹在眾木中、葡萄枝在叢林中、有何長乎、

人子、葡萄之樹、豈得於林中眾木、等量齊觀乎。

“ Son of man, how is the wood of a vine different from that of a branch from any of the trees in the forest?

“ Son of man, how is the wood of a vine different from the wood of any tree in the forest?

“ Son of man, how does the wood of the vine surpass any wood, the vine branch that is among the trees of the forest?

“ Son of man, how does a grapevine compare to a tree? Is a vine’s wood as useful as the wood of a tree?

“ Son of man, how does the wood of the vine, that branch among the trees of the forest, compare to any other wood?

“ Son of man, how is the wood of the vine better than any wood of a branch which is among the trees of the forest?

“ Son of man, how is the wood of the vine better than any other wood, the vine branch which is among the trees of the forest?

Son of man, what is the vine- tree more than any tree, the vine- branch which is among the trees of the forest?

“ Son of man, how does the wood of the vine, that branch among the trees of the forest, compare to any other wood?

“ Son of man, of all the woody branches among the trees of the forest, what happens to the wood of the vine?

“ Son of man, what is the vine tree more than any tree, the vine- branch which is among the trees of the forest?

Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up;[ and] break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts[ is] the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.

Israel[ is] an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he hath increased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly images.

Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.Thou preparedst[ room] before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof[ were like] the goodly cedars.She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.Why hast thou[ then] broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch[ that] thou madest strong for thyself.[ It is] burned with fire,[ it is] cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.

Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?

I went down into the garden of nuts to see the fruits of the valley,[ and] to see whether the vine flourished,[ and] the pomegranates budded.

Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent[ him] away empty.And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated[ him] shamefully, and sent[ him] away empty.And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast[ him] out.Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence[ him] when they see him.But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed[ him]. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard[ it], they said, God forbid.

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every[ branch] that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.I am the vine, ye[ are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast[ them] into the fire, and they are burned.

Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines[ have] tender grapes.

Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish,[ whether] the tender grape appear,[ and] the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves.

Solomon had a vineyard at Baalhamon; he let out the vineyard unto keepers; every one for the fruit thereof was to bring a thousand[ pieces] of silver.My vineyard, which[ is] mine,[ is] before me: thou, O Solomon,[ must have] a thousand, and those that keep the fruit thereof two hundred.

Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down.

The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines[ with] the tender grape give a[ good] smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.

Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed[ as] a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.

Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.And they caught him, and cast[ him] out of the vineyard, and slew[ him].When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out[ his] vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

And he began to speak unto them by parables. A[ certain] man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about[ it], and digged[ a place for] the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.And they caught[ him], and beat him, and sent[ him] away empty.And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded[ him] in the head, and sent[ him] away shamefully handled.And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.And they took him, and killed[ him], and cast[ him] out of the vineyard.What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.

Sing, O ye heavens; for the LORD hath done[ it]: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.

For their vine[ is] of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes[ are] grapes of gall, their clusters[ are] bitter:Their wine[ is] the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.
