蓋我為耶和華、我將言之、所言必成、不復濡滯、爾悖逆之家乎、在爾尚存之日、我必言之、亦必成之、主耶和華言之矣、○

蓋我耶和華言而有應、原不濡滯、我既言之、爾違逆者、尚存之日、必見效驗、我耶和華已言之矣。

蓋言者乃我、我原文作主我所言者必成之、不復遲延、悖逆之族歟、我所言者、我必於爾尚存之日成之、此乃主天主所言、○

so my word that comes from my mouth will not return to me empty, but it will accomplish what I please and will prosper in what I send it to do.”

Therefore say to them,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: None of my words will be delayed any longer. The message I speak will be fulfilled. This is the declaration of the Lord GOD.’”

The LORD of Armies has sworn: As I have purposed, so it will be; as I have planned it, so it will happen.

Look at the nations and observe— be utterly astounded! For I am doing something in your days that you will not believe when you hear about it.

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

The word of the LORD came to me:“ Son of man, you are living among a rebellious house. They have eyes to see but do not see, and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious house.

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

For this is what the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: I am about to eliminate from this place, before your very eyes and in your time, the sound of joy and gladness, the voice of the groom and the bride.

The LORD has done what he planned; he has accomplished his decree, which he ordained in days of old. He has demolished without compassion, letting the enemy gloat over you and exalting the horn of your adversaries.

But didn’t my words and my statutes that I commanded my servants the prophets overtake your ancestors?’” So the people repented and said,“ As the LORD of Armies decided to deal with us for our ways and our deeds, so he has dealt with us.”

And they will know that I am the LORD; I did not threaten to bring this disaster on them without a reason.

“ Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things take place.Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

This will give you an opportunity to bear witness.

He has carried out his words that he spoke against us and against our rulers by bringing on us a disaster that is so great that nothing like what has been done to Jerusalem has ever been done under all of heaven.

Tell them: As I live— this is the LORD’s declaration— I will do to you exactly as I heard you say.Your corpses will fall in this wilderness— all of you who were registered in the census, the entire number of you twenty years old or more— because you have complained about me.I swear that none of you will enter the land I promised to settle you in, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.I will bring your children whom you said would become plunder into the land you rejected, and they will enjoy it.But as for you, your corpses will fall in this wilderness.Your children will be shepherds in the wilderness for forty years and bear the penalty for your acts of unfaithfulness until all your corpses lie scattered in the wilderness.You will bear the consequences of your iniquities forty years based on the number of the forty days that you scouted the land, a year for each day. You will know my displeasure.
