Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people and said,“ This is the blood of the covenant that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”

因为公牛和山羊的血根本不能除去人的罪。所以，基督来到世上的时候曾说：“上帝啊，祭物和供物非你所悦，你为我预备了身体。

摩西把祭牲的血一半放在盆里，一半洒在坛上。

我要在你们身上洒清水洁净你们，洗净你们所有的污秽，除掉你们心中一切的偶像。

晚餐后，祂又照样拿起杯来，说，“这杯是用我的血立的新约。你们每逢喝的时候，要这样做，为的是纪念我。”

这是我为万人所流的立约之血，为了使罪得到赦免。

愿赐平安的上帝，就是那位凭着立永恒之约的血使群羊的大牧人——我主耶稣从死里复活的上帝，

耶稣说：“这是我为万人所流的立约之血。

你们蒙拣选是按照父上帝预先定好的旨意，借着圣灵得以圣洁，好顺服耶稣基督，并靠祂的血得到洁净。愿上帝赐给你们丰丰富富的恩典和平安！

饭后，祂又举起杯来，说：“这杯是用我的血立的新约，这血是为你们流的。

锡安啊，因为我用血跟你立了约，我必将你中间被掳的人从无水之坑释放出来。

祂必洗净许多国家，君王必因祂而闭口无言。因为他们将看见未曾听过的事，明白闻所未闻的事。

摩西拿了一些膏油和坛上的血，洒在亚伦和他的衣服上，也洒在他儿子们和他们的衣服上，使亚伦父子们和他们的衣服圣洁。

我们借着祂爱子的血蒙救赎，过犯得到赦免，这都是出于祂的洪恩。

正因如此，连立旧约也需要用血才能生效。摩西依照律法向犹太人颁布所有诫命之后，便用红色的羊毛和牛膝草蘸了牛犊和山羊的血以及水，洒在律法书和百姓身上，说：“这是上帝用来与你们立约的血。”他又照样把血洒在圣幕和所有用来献祭的器具上。
