Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people. They responded,“ We will do everything the Lord has said; we will obey.”

摩西下山把耶和华的话和法令都告诉百姓，百姓齐声回答：“我们愿意遵行耶和华的一切吩咐。”摩西把耶和华的这些话记录下来。第二天清晨，摩西在山脚筑了一座坛，立了十二根柱子代表以色列的十二支派。

所有以色列人到你们的上帝耶和华选定的地方朝见祂时，你们要当众大声宣读这律法。要招聚所有男女、孩童以及住在你们中间的外族人，让他们聆听这律法，学习敬畏你们的上帝耶和华，谨遵律法上的一切话。这样，他们那些还不知道这律法的孩子便有机会听到律法，在你们将要占领的约旦河对岸的土地上，学习终生敬畏你们的上帝耶和华。”

正因如此，连立旧约也需要用血才能生效。摩西依照律法向犹太人颁布所有诫命之后，便用红色的羊毛和牛膝草蘸了牛犊和山羊的血以及水，洒在律法书和百姓身上，说：“这是上帝用来与你们立约的血。”他又照样把血洒在圣幕和所有用来献祭的器具上。根据律法，几乎所有的器具都要用血来洁净，因为若不流血，罪就得不到赦免。既然仿照天上的样式所造的器具需要用祭牲的血来洁净，天上的原物当然要用更美的祭物来洁净。

只吩咐他们，‘你们要听从我的话，我就做你们的上帝，你们做我的子民；你们遵行我的吩咐，就必蒙福。’他们却掩耳不听，一意孤行，任意行恶，越来越坏。

最后，我奉主的名吩咐你们把这封信读给所有弟兄姊妹听。

读完律法书和先知书后，会堂主管派人告诉他们：“弟兄们，如果你们有什么劝勉众人的话，请讲。”

你们当众宣读这封信后，也要交给老底嘉教会宣读，你们也要宣读老底嘉教会转给你们的信。
