他又把約書念給百姓聽，百姓聽了都說：「我們願意遵行耶和華的一切吩咐，我們願意順服。」

Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people. They responded,“ We will do everything the Lord has said; we will obey.”

摩西下山把耶和華的話和法令都告訴百姓，百姓齊聲回答：「我們願意遵行耶和華的一切吩咐。」摩西把耶和華的這些話記錄下來。第二天清晨，摩西在山腳築了一座壇，立了十二根柱子代表以色列的十二支派。

所有以色列人到你們的上帝耶和華選定的地方朝見祂時，你們要當眾大聲宣讀這律法。要招聚所有男女、孩童以及住在你們中間的外族人，讓他們聆聽這律法，學習敬畏你們的上帝耶和華，謹遵律法上的一切話。這樣，他們那些還不知道這律法的孩子便有機會聽到律法，在你們將要佔領的約旦河對岸的土地上，學習終生敬畏你們的上帝耶和華。」

正因如此，連立舊約也需要用血才能生效。摩西依照律法向猶太人頒佈所有誡命之後，便用紅色的羊毛和牛膝草蘸了牛犢和山羊的血以及水，灑在律法書和百姓身上，說：「這是上帝用來與你們立約的血。」他又照樣把血灑在聖幕和所有用來獻祭的器具上。根據律法，幾乎所有的器具都要用血來潔淨，因為若不流血，罪就得不到赦免。既然仿照天上的樣式所造的器具需要用祭牲的血來潔淨，天上的原物當然要用更美的祭物來潔淨。

只吩咐他們，『你們要聽從我的話，我就做你們的上帝，你們做我的子民；你們遵行我的吩咐，就必蒙福。』他們卻掩耳不聽，一意孤行，任意行惡，越來越壞。

最後，我奉主的名吩咐你們把這封信讀給所有弟兄姊妹聽。

讀完律法書和先知書後，會堂主管派人告訴他們：「弟兄們，如果你們有什麼勸勉眾人的話，請講。」

你們當眾宣讀這封信後，也要交給老底嘉教會宣讀，你們也要宣讀老底嘉教會轉給你們的信。
