你和這跟你在一起的人民一定會疲乏頹憊，因為這事太重，你獨自一人作不了。

他們說：『請給我們一個王來為我們審案』：撒母耳對這事很不高興，就禱告永恆主。永恆主對撒母耳說：『關於人民向你說的一切話你只管依從，因為他們不是棄絕你，乃是棄絕了我作王來管理他們。

永恆主對撒母耳說：『你只管依從他們的話，為他們設立一個王。』撒母耳對以色列人說：『你們各往各城去吧。』

兵眾卻說：『你不可出戰；因為我們若逃跑，他們也不會注意我們；我們若死了一半，他們也不會注意我們；因為你一人就等於我們一萬人；你一人還是從城裏幫助我們好。』

不過仍然住在肉身裏呢，為着你們的緣故倒更必須。我既然這樣深信，就知道還要存活，並且要和你們眾人一同存活，使你們得到信仰上的進步和喜樂，

永恆主與亞伯拉罕說完了話就走了；亞伯拉罕也回自己地方去了。

但是洗魯雅的兒子亞比篩幫助了大衛，擊打那非利士人，將他殺死。當日跟隨大衛的人向大衛起誓說：『以後你不要再和我們一同出戰了，恐怕你使以色列的燈熄滅了。』

在保羅巴拿巴與他們之間、既起了不小的紛爭與辯論，大家就派保羅巴拿巴跟他們中間另幾個人、為了這個問題上耶路撒冷去見使徒和長老。

你們看，永恆主將安息日賜給你們，所以第六天他賜給你們兩天的食物：第七天各人要住在自己的所在；各人都不要出自己的地方。』
