耶和華在他們前面行，日間用雲柱領他們的路，夜間用火柱光照他們，使他們日夜都可以行走。

觀看所有驕傲的人，把他制伏，把惡人踐踏在他們的地方，

他們在半夜之中剎那之間死亡，平民因遭受震動而去世，有權勢的被除滅非借人手。

耶和華在天上打雷，至高者發出聲音，發出冰雹和火炭。他射出箭來，使它們四散；他連連發出閃電，使它們混亂。

他若安靜不動，誰能定他有罪呢？他若掩面，誰能看見他呢？無論對待一國或一人，都是這樣。

因此我在他面前驚惶，一想到這事，我就懼怕他。神使我心裡膽怯，全能者使我驚惶，

他們一見這城，就驚惶，慌忙逃跑。

他注視大地，地就震動；他觸摸群山，山就冒煙。

在以色列營前行走的神的使者，轉到他們後面去；雲柱也從他們前面轉過去，立在他們後面。雲柱來到埃及營和以色列營中間；雲柱一邊是黑暗的，一邊卻光照著黑夜。這樣整夜彼此都不能接近。

第二天，掃羅把眾人分成三隊。在晨更的時候，他們進了亞捫人的營中，擊殺他們，直到中午；殘餘的人都星散了，他們中間沒有兩個人留在一起的。

你說：‘神知道甚麼？他能透過幽暗施行審判嗎？

又使他們的車輪脫落，行駛困難，因此埃及人說：“我們從以色列人面前逃跑吧，因為耶和華為他們爭戰，攻擊埃及人了。”
