民遄征時、耶和華之雲晝蔽其上。

晝則導民以雲、夜則燭民以火兮、

然爾矜憫靡涯、不棄斯民於野、晝仍導以雲、夜仍燭以火、其狀如柱、不論何往、時無間絕。

上帝之使、昔在以色列營前、今遷於後、雲狀如柱、亦離前而立後。間於二營之中。埃及人觀之如黑雲、以色列族望之如巨光、彼此終夜不相近。摩西指海、耶和華使東風驟起、飄揚永夕、水退海判、其間若陸地。以色列族行於海中、若履陸地、左右水如壁立。埃及人車馬、與法老軍旅襲其後、至海中、昧爽火雲若柱、耶和華於其中俯視埃及營、亂其行伍、

入時、雲狀如柱、下止幕門、耶和華與摩西言。民目擊之、各於幕門、俯伏以拜。

有雲覆會幕、耶和華之榮光盈其室、因雲覆之、耶和華之榮光盈之、故摩西不能進會幕、雲離會幕時、以色列族遄征、雲不移、民不行、晝則耶和華之雲籠罩幕上、及夜雲狀若火、以色列族遄征時、悉目擊焉。

烈日炎熇、驟雨滂沛、亦將覆幬以庇護。
