For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

因此、我葆樂竟為爾異邦人之故、而作基督耶穌之囚徒矣。

For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles—

I, Paul, am a prisoner because of Christ Jesus. I am in prison because of my work among you who are Gentiles.

For this cause I, Paul, am the prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles,

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:

For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Yet for love’s sake I rather beseech[ thee], being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other[ places];And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:

Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.

Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy[ our] brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,

But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute[ you], delivering[ you] up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake.

So he took him, and brought[ him] to the chief captain, and said, Paul the prisoner called me unto[ him], and prayed me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say unto thee.

And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men[ and] brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.Who, when they had examined me, would have let[ me] go, because there was no cause of death in me.But when the Jews spake against[ it], I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of.For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see[ you], and to speak with[ you]: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.

And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.

There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus;

Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain:

Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence[ am] base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:

Are they ministers of Christ?( I speak as a fool) I[ am] more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.

Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer,[ even] unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast[ some] of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded[ him] to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.

Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.

Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
