The church is Christ’s body and is filled by Christ. He fills everything in every way.

If the whole were an ear, what part would exercise the sense of smell?But as a matter of fact, God has placed each of the members in the body just as he decided.If they were all the same member, where would the body be?So now there are many members, but one body.The eye cannot say to the hand,“ I do not need you,” nor in turn can the head say to the foot,“ I do not need you.”On the contrary, those members that seem to be weaker are essential,and those members we consider less honorable we clothe with greater honor, and our unpresentable members are clothed with dignity,but our presentable members do not need this. Instead, God has blended together the body, giving greater honor to the lesser member,so that there may be no division in the body, but the members may have mutual concern for one another.If one member suffers, everyone suffers with it. If a member is honored, all rejoice with it.Now you are Christ’s body, and each of you is a member of it.

because the husband is the head of the wife as also Christ is the head of the church– he himself being the savior of the body.But as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave himself for herto sanctify her by cleansing her with the washing of the water by the word,so that he may present the church to himself as glorious– not having a stain or wrinkle, or any such blemish, but holy and blameless.In the same way husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.For no one has ever hated his own body but he feeds it and takes care of it, just as Christ also does the church,for we are members of his body.For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and will be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.This mystery is great– but I am actually speaking with reference to Christ and the church.

Let the peace of Christ be in control in your heart( for you were in fact called as one body to this peace), and be thankful.

And when all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will be subjected to the one who subjected everything to him, so that God may be all in all.

And there are different results, but the same God who produces all of them in everyone.

and to reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by which the hostility has been killed.

Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath of the authorities but also because of your conscience.

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you too were called to the one hope of your calling,

Here there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all and in all.
