But of the cities of these peoples, that Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth;

只是永恆主你的上帝所賜給你以為業的這些別族之民的城市中、凡有氣息的、一個你也不要讓他活着；

惟此諸族之邑、爾上帝耶和華賜爾為業、凡有氣息者、勿留其一、

惟赫人、亞摩哩人、迦南人、比哩洗人、希未人、耶布士人、爾之上帝耶和華以其邑付爾得之、爾必盡滅其眾、凡有血氣者、不全其生、遵爾上帝耶和華命。

惟此列國之邑、主爾之天主所賜爾為業者、其中凡有血氣者、毋留其一、

However, in the cities of the nations the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes.

But what about the cities the Lord your God is giving you as your own? Kill everything that breathes in those cities.

But in the cities of these peoples that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance, you shall save alive nothing that breathes,

In those towns that the Lord your God is giving you as a special possession, destroy every living thing.

However, you must not let any living thing survive among the cities of these people the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance.

Only in the cities of these peoples that the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, you shall not leave anything that breathes alive.

“ But of the cities of these peoples which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance, you shall let nothing that breathes remain alive,

However, you must not let any living thing survive among the cities of these people the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance.

When Jehovah thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and shall cast out many nations before thee, the Hittite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;and when Jehovah thy God shall deliver them up before thee, and thou shalt smite them; then thou shalt utterly destroy them: thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor show mercy unto them;neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.For he will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of Jehovah be kindled against you, and he will destroy thee quickly.

then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their figured stones, and destroy all their molten images, and demolish all their high places:

And Joshua took Makkedah on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof: he utterly destroyed them and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining; and he did to the king of Makkedah as he had done unto the king of Jericho.

So they smote him, and his sons and all his people, until there was none left him remaining: and they possessed his land.

And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants, how that Jehovah thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you; therefore we were sore afraid for our lives because of you, and have done this thing.

So Joshua smote all the land, the hill- country, and the South, and the lowland, and the slopes, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but he utterly destroyed all that breathed, as Jehovah, the God of Israel, commanded.

And Joshua made them that day hewers of wood and drawers of water for the congregation, and for the altar of Jehovah, unto this day, in the place which he should choose.

And thou shalt consume all the peoples that Jehovah thy God shall deliver unto thee; thine eye shall not pity them: neither shalt thou serve their gods; for that will be a snare unto thee.
