People staggered from town to town for water but did not get enough to drink, yet you have not returned to me,” declares the Lord.

又說：「人子啊，我要斷絕耶路撒冷的糧源，叫他們焦慮地吃限量的餅，恐懼地喝限量的水。他們必缺糧少水，絕望地面面相覷，因自己的罪惡而滅亡。」

我以為她放縱之後會回到我身邊，她卻執迷不悟。她不忠的妹妹猶大也看見了這事。

貴族派僕人去水池打水，僕人去那裡發現沒有水，就帶著空瓶垂頭喪氣、羞愧難當地回去了。天不下雨，土地乾裂，農夫沮喪地抱著頭。

你吃，卻吃不飽，仍然腹中空空。你聚斂錢財，卻保不住。你保住的，我要交給拿刀的。

「貧窮困苦的人找不到水喝，他們口乾舌燥。但我耶和華必應允他們的呼求，我——以色列的上帝不會撇棄他們。我要使光禿的山嶺上江河奔流，山谷中泉水湧流；我要使沙漠變成水塘，使乾地冒出泉水。

「我用熱風和黴災擊打你們，叫蝗蟲吞噬你們田園中的菜蔬、葡萄樹、無花果樹和橄欖樹。儘管如此，你們仍不歸向我。這是耶和華說的。「我在你們中間降下瘟疫，如從前降在埃及一樣。我殺戮你們的青年，擄掠你們的戰馬，使你們軍營中的死屍臭味撲鼻。儘管如此，你們仍不歸向我。這是耶和華說的。「我在你們中間施行毀滅，如從前毀滅所多瑪和蛾摩拉一樣，使你們像從火裡抽出的一根柴。儘管如此，你們仍不歸向我。這是耶和華說的。

以色列人被自己的傲慢指控，他們卻不歸向他們的上帝耶和華，也不去尋求祂。

我也看見耶路撒冷的先知行為可惡，他們通姦，謊話連篇，慫恿惡人，以致無人悔過自新。在我眼中，耶路撒冷人就像所多瑪人和蛾摩拉人一樣敗壞。
