當時，掃羅也贊成殺死司提凡。從那天起，耶路撒冷的教會開始遭到極大的迫害。除了使徒之外，門徒都分散到猶太和撒瑪利亞各地。

當時被譽為教會柱石的雅各、彼得和約翰明白了上帝賜給我的恩典之後，就與我和巴拿巴用右手行相交之禮，讓我們向外族人傳福音，他們向受割禮的人傳福音。

派提摩太去你們那裡。他在傳揚基督福音的事工上是我們的弟兄、上帝的同工。他去是要鼓勵你們，使你們信心堅定，

我們不住地感謝上帝，因為你們從我們這裡聽了上帝的道後就接受了，確信這不是人的道理，而是上帝的道。這道正在你們信的人心裡發揮作用。

用盡各樣詭計欺騙那些將要滅亡的人，因為他們不喜歡接受那能拯救他們的真理。

使徒和猶太全境的弟兄姊妹都聽說外族人接受了上帝的道。

一天，在下午三點禱告的時間，彼得和約翰去聖殿。有一個生來瘸腿的人天天被人抬到聖殿美門的外面，向進殿的人乞討。他看見彼得和約翰要進殿，就求他們施捨。

種子落在沃土裡，是指人聽了道，並明白了道，就結出果實來，有的多達一百倍，有的六十倍，有的三十倍。」

棄絕我、不接受我話的人將受到審判，我講過的道在末日要審判他，

耶穌差派彼得和約翰出去，說：「你們為我們準備逾越節吃的晚餐。」

當地的人比帖撒羅尼迦人通情達理，非常樂意接受真道，還天天查考聖經，研究這道是否正確。

結果，那天約有三千人相信了他傳的道，接受了洗禮。

司提凡殉道後，信徒們因受迫害而四散到各處，遠至腓尼基、塞浦路斯和安提阿，他們只向那裡的猶太人傳福音。不過，有些塞浦路斯和古利奈的信徒到了安提阿之後，也向希臘人傳講主耶穌的福音。上帝的能力伴隨著他們，有許多人信了主。耶路撒冷教會的人聽到這消息後，就派巴拿巴去安提阿。

他們到了耶路撒冷，受到教會、使徒和長老的接待，並詳述了上帝藉他們所做的一切事。
