我年老时，求你不要丢弃我；我体力衰微时，求你不要离弃我。

耶和华照祂的应许，让我又活了四十五年，这些日子都是跟以色列人在旷野一起度过的。看！我现在已经八十五岁了，仍像当年摩西派我出去时那样身强力壮，跟当年一样能征善战。

守卫家园的手脚颤抖，强壮的身躯变得弯腰驼背；牙齿稀少，无法咀嚼；视力衰退，看不清楚；

非利士人听说大卫已被膏立为以色列王，就全军出动，要搜寻大卫。大卫得到消息便退到坚城里。

后来非利士人又卷土重来，散布在利乏音谷。

大卫遵命而行，打败非利士人，由迦巴一直杀到基色。

难道你不知道？难道你没有听见过？永恒的上帝耶和华——创造地极的主宰不会疲乏也不会困倦，祂的智慧深不可测。祂赐疲乏的人能力，给软弱的人力量。即使青年也会疲乏困倦，强壮的人也会踉跄跌倒；

尽管我身心俱衰，上帝永远是我心中的力量，永远属于我。

这事以后，以色列人又在基色与非利士人交战。户沙人西比该杀死一个叫细派的巨人后裔，非利士人被征服。

上帝啊，就是我年老发白的时候，求你也不要丢弃我，好让我把你的大能告诉下一代，世代相传。

耶和华说：“智者不要夸耀自己的智慧，勇士不要夸耀自己的力量，富人不要夸耀自己的财富。若有人夸耀，就让他夸耀自己认识我是耶和华，知道我喜欢在地上凭慈爱、公平和正义行事。这是耶和华说的。”

因为“芸芸众生尽如草，荣华不过草上花；草必枯干花必残，唯有主道永长存。”这道就是传给你们的福音。
