Now then, be strong and brave, for Saul your master is dead, and the people of Judah have anointed me king over them.”

所有的勇士就动身，走了一整夜，把扫罗的尸体和他三个儿子的尸体都从伯．珊的城墙上取下来，带回雅比，在那里把他们烧了，

你们要警醒，要在信仰上站立得稳，要作大丈夫，要刚强。

这些事以后，耶和华的话在异象中临到亚伯兰说：“亚伯兰，你不要惧怕，我是你的盾牌；你的赏赐是很大的。”

在山谷那边，和约旦河那边的以色列人，看见以色列人逃跑，扫罗和他的儿子都死了，他们就弃城逃跑。非利士人就来住在城中。

最后，你们要靠主的大能大力，在他里面刚强。

非利士人哪！你们要刚强，要作大丈夫，免得你们作希伯来人的奴仆，好像他们作过你们的奴仆一样；你们要作大丈夫，作战吧！”

你要刚强；为了我们的人民和我们神的众城镇，我们要刚强！愿耶和华成全他看为美的事。”
