大衛謂之曰、若爾與我偕往、則必負累我、

此外有其奴婢七千三百三十七人、中有謳歌之男女二百、

我儕年壽、不過七十、若強健者可至八十、其中勞苦煩惱甚多、日月甚速、我儕迅逝如飛、

若其家人少、不能食盡一羔、則與比鄰依其人數、並如其食量、同備一羔、

又積貯金銀、與列王諸國之珍寶、又得歌男歌女、及世人所樂者、以及妃嬪、

耳中辨言、如口之嘗味、

此外有其奴婢七千三百三十七人、中有謳歌之男女二百四十五人、

爾在幼時、患難之日未來、爾所不悅之年未至、當及時記憶造爾之主、不待日月眾星晦其光、雨後又作雲之時、其時守室者將戰慄、有力者必卷曲、磨磨者寡而閒、自牖窺者皆昏暗、通衢之門已閉、磨之聲微小、寢時、聞鳥鳴即起、謳歌之女已衰、畏登高處、行於途亦多驚懼、以杏核為可厭、以蝗蟲為重物、口腹之欲悉廢、將歸永居之所、不久哀者隨行於衢、

我舌豈有不義乎、我口豈不辨惡言乎、

法老女曰、可往、童女遂往招子之母、

惟成人方食堅實之食、其心因習練而明、能別善惡矣、

若爾果嘗主之仁慈、則當如是、

禍哉斯人、蚤起縱飲濃酒、飲至深夜、致體因酒作燒、惟知宴樂、彈琴、鼓瑟、擊鼓、吹笛、飲酒、不顧主之經綸、不察主手所作、

王謂押沙龍曰、我子、我儕不必俱往、恐使爾費過奢、押沙龍堅請、王亦不允、乃為之祝福、
