There was a great famine in the city; the siege lasted so long that a donkey’s head sold for eighty shekels of silver, and a quarter of a cab of seed pods for five shekels.

There wasn’t enough food anywhere in the city. It was surrounded for so long that people had to weigh out two pounds of silver for a donkey’s head. They had to weigh out two ounces of silver for half a pint of seed pods.

And there was a great famine in Samaria, as they besieged it, until a donkey’s head was sold for eighty shekels of silver, and the fourth part of a kab of dove’s dung for five shekels of silver.

As a result, there was a great famine in the city. The siege lasted so long that a donkey’s head sold for eighty pieces of silver, and a cup of dove’s dung sold for five pieces of silver.

我就說：「唉！主耶和華，看哪，那些先知常對他們說：『你們必不見刀劍，也不遭饑荒；耶和華要在這地方賞賜你們真正的平安。』」耶和華對我說：「那些先知託我的名說假預言，我並未差遣他們，沒有吩咐他們，也沒有對他們說話；他們向你們預言的是虛假的異象、占卜、虛無，以及心中的詭詐。所以耶和華如此說：『論到託我名說預言的那些先知，我並未差遣他們；他們說這地不會有刀劍、饑荒，其實那些先知自己必被刀劍、饑荒滅絕。

四月初九，城裏的饑荒非常嚴重，當地的百姓都沒有糧食。

我們若說要進城去，城裏有饑荒，我們必死在那裏。若我們在這裏坐着不動，也必死。現在，來吧，我們去向亞蘭人的軍隊投降。若他們饒我們的命，我們就活着；若殺我們，我們就死吧！」

我要斷絕你們糧食的供應，使十個女人用一個烤爐給你們烤餅，按配給的定量秤給你們。你們要吃，卻吃不飽。

四月初九，城裏的饑荒非常嚴重，當地的百姓都沒有糧食。

耶和華說：「以色列人在我趕他們到的列國中，也必這樣吃不潔淨的食物。」我說：「唉！主耶和華，看哪，我從來未曾被玷污，從幼年到如今沒有吃過自然死的，或被野獸撕裂的，那不潔淨的肉也未曾入我的口。」於是他對我說：「看，我給你牛糞代替人糞，你要在上面烤你的餅。」他又對我說：「人子，看哪，我必斷絕耶路撒冷糧食的供應。他們要帶着憂慮限量吃餅；帶着驚惶限量喝水。

以利亞就去，要讓亞哈見到他。那時，撒瑪利亞的饑荒非常嚴重。
