The king stood by the pillar and renewed the covenant in the presence of the Lord— to follow the Lord and keep his commands, statutes and decrees with all his heart and all his soul, thus confirming the words of the covenant written in this book. Then all the people pledged themselves to the covenant.

The king stood next to his pillar. He agreed to the terms of the covenant in front of the Lord. The king promised to serve the Lord and obey his commands, directions and rules. He promised to obey them with all his heart and with all his soul. So he agreed to the terms of the covenant written down in that book. Then all the people committed themselves to the covenant as well.

And the king stood by the pillar and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people joined in the covenant.

The king took his place of authority beside the pillar and renewed the covenant in the Lord’s presence. He pledged to obey the Lord by keeping all his commands, laws, and decrees with all his heart and soul. In this way, he confirmed all the terms of the covenant that were written in the scroll, and all the people pledged themselves to the covenant.

耶何耶大使王和百姓与耶和华立约，作耶和华的子民，又使王与百姓立约。

但愿赐平安的神，就是那凭永约之血，把群羊的大牧人—我们主耶稣从死人中领出来的神，

他们要问到锡安之路，又面向那里，说：“来吧，他们要在永不被遗忘的约中与耶和华联合。”

“这是耶和华—你们的神所吩咐要教导你们的诫命、律例、典章，叫你们在所要过去得为业的地上遵行，

他们立约，要尽心尽性寻求耶和华—他们列祖的神。凡不寻求耶和华—以色列神的，无论大小、男女，必被处死。他们就大声欢呼，吹号吹角，向耶和华起誓。

耶何耶大与众百姓，又与王立约，要作耶和华的子民。

我劝你因神誓言的缘故，当遵守王的命令。

摩西下山，向百姓陈述耶和华一切的命令和典章。众百姓齐声说：“耶和华所吩咐的一切，我们都必遵行。”

“以色列啊，现在耶和华—你的神向你要的是什么呢？只要你敬畏耶和华—你的神，遵行他一切的道，爱他，尽心尽性事奉耶和华—你的神，

因这一切，我们立确实的约，写在册上。我们的领袖、利未人和祭司都用了印。

耶和华的律法全备，使人苏醒；耶和华的法度确定，使愚蒙人有智慧。耶和华的训词正直，使人心快活；耶和华的命令清洁，使人眼目明亮。耶和华的典章真实，全然公义，敬畏耶和华是纯洁的，存到永远，

现在，我们要与我们的神立约，送走所有的妻子和她们所生的，照着主和那些因我们神诫命战兢之人所议定的，按律法去行。

百姓对约书亚说：“我们必事奉耶和华—我们的神，听从他的话。”那日，约书亚就与百姓立约，在示剑为他们制定律例典章。

“你们若留心听从我今日所吩咐你们的诫命，爱耶和华—你们的神，尽心尽性事奉他，

其余的百姓、祭司、利未人、门口的守卫、歌唱的、殿役，所有与邻邦民族分别出来、归服神律法的，以及他们的妻子、儿女，凡有知识、能明白的，都随从他们贵族的弟兄发咒起誓，要遵行神藉他仆人摩西所赐的律法，谨守遵行耶和华—我们主的一切诫命、典章、律例。我们不把我们的女儿嫁给这地的居民，也不为我们的儿子娶他们的女儿。这地的民族若在安息日，或什么圣日，带了货物或粮食来卖，我们必不买。每逢第七年必不耕种，凡欠我们债的必不追讨。我们又为自己定例，每年各人捐献三分之一舍客勒，作为我们神殿之用：为供饼、常献的素祭和燔祭，安息日、初一、节期所献的祭和圣物，以色列的赎罪祭，以及我们神殿里一切工作之用。我们的祭司、利未人和百姓都抽签，每年按父家定期将奉献的木柴带到我们神的殿里，照着律法上所写的，烧在耶和华—我们神的坛上。每年我们又将地上初熟的土产和各样树上初熟的果子，都奉到耶和华的殿里。我们又照律法上所写的，将我们头胎的儿子和首生的牛羊都奉到我们神的殿，交给在神殿里供职的祭司；并将初熟麦子所磨的面和举祭、各样树上的果子、新酒与新油奉给祭司，收在我们神殿的库房里，又把我们土地所产的十分之一奉给利未人，因利未人在我们一切城镇的土产中当取十分之一。利未人取十分之一的时候，亚伦的子孙中当有一个祭司与利未人同在。利未人也当从十分之一中取十分之一，奉到我们神的殿，收在库房的仓里。因以色列人和利未人要把礼物，就是五谷、新酒和新油，带到收存圣所器皿的仓里，供职的祭司、门口的守卫、歌唱的都在那里。我们绝不会不顾我们神的殿。

摩西召集以色列众人，对他们说：“以色列啊，要听我今日在你们耳中所吩咐的律例典章，要学习，谨守遵行。耶和华—我们的神在何烈山与我们立约。这约耶和华不是与我们列祖立的，而是与我们，就是今日在这里还活着的人立的。

你要尽心、尽性、尽力爱耶和华—你的神。

所以神指责他们说：“主说，看哪，日子将到，我要与以色列家和犹大家另立新的约；不像我拉着他们祖宗的手领他们出埃及地的时候，与他们所立的约；因为他们不恒心守我的约，所以我也不理他们；这是主说的。主又说：那些日子以后，我与以色列家所立的约是这样：我要将我的律法放在他们的心思里，写在他们的心上；我要作他们的神，他们要作我的子民。他们各人不用教导自己的乡亲和自己的弟兄，说：你要认识主；因为从最小的到最大的，他们都要认识我。我要宽恕他们的不义，绝不再记得他们的罪恶。”既然神提到“新的约”，那么第一个约就成为旧的了；而那渐旧渐衰的必然很快消逝了。

这些法度、律例、典章是摩西在以色列人出埃及后对他们说的，

并新约的中保耶稣，以及所洒的血；这血所说的信息比亚伯的血所说的更美。

“老师，律法上的诫命哪一条是最大的呢？”耶稣对他说：“你要尽心、尽性、尽意爱主—你的神。

你若忘记耶和华—你的神，随从别神，事奉它们，敬拜它们，我今日警告你们，你们必定灭亡。
